Liujunzi decoction

Liujunzi decoction is one of the few classic prescriptions in traditional Chinese medicine. It is mainly composed of six Chinese herbal medicines, such as Codonopsis pilosula, Atractylodes macrocephala, Poria, Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata, Pinellia ternata and Pericarpium Citri Tangerinae. It has the effects of invigorating spleen and benefiting qi, eliminating dampness and resolving phlegm. After compatibility, its medicinal properties are just and impartial, just as a gentleman has the intention of neutralization and conforms to the golden mean, so the Chinese medicine community calls them "Six Gentlemen Decoction".

Formula of Liujunzi decoction

Ginseng (9g), Atractylodis Rhizoma (9g), Poria (9g), Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata (6g), Pericarpium Citri Tangerinae (3g), and Rhizoma Pinelliae (4.5g).

Interpretation of formula:

Ginseng: it can replenish vital energy, recover pulse, strengthen spleen and lung, promote fluid production to quench thirst, soothe the nerves and improve intelligence.

Atractylodes macrocephala: invigorating spleen and qi, eliminating dampness and promoting diuresis, stopping sweating and preventing miscarriage. It is used for spleen deficiency, anorexia, abdominal distension and diarrhea, phlegm, dizziness, edema, spontaneous sweating and fetal movement.

Poria cocos: diuresis and dampness, invigorating spleen and resolving phlegm, calming the heart and calming the nerves, detoxifying and resisting cancer. The medicine is mild in nature, promoting diuresis without damaging healthy qi.

Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata: Benefiting qi and nourishing yin, activating yang and restoring pulse.

Chenpi: regulating qi and strengthening spleen, eliminating dampness and resolving phlegm. Used for fullness in the chest cavity, less food, vomiting and diarrhea, and cough with excessive phlegm.

Pinellia ternata: eliminating dampness and resolving phlegm, reducing adverse reactions and stopping vomiting, eliminating swelling and dissipating stagnation.

Efficacy and Function of Liujunzi Decoction

Efficacy: invigorating qi and spleen, eliminating dampness and resolving phlegm. Indications: Deficiency of spleen and stomach combined with internal resistance of disease and dampness, such as decreased diet, weakness of limbs, fullness and bloating in the chest, thin stool, cough with excessive phlegm, or both warming qi and vomiting.

Indications Malignant lymphoma belongs to spleen deficiency and phlegm-dampness. The symptoms are anorexia, abdominal distension after eating, abdominal distension, cough with excessive phlegm, pale tongue, white and greasy fur and thready pulse.

Modern research shows that this prescription can regulate gastrointestinal motility, relieve gastrointestinal smooth muscle spasm, and adjust intestinal dyskinesia caused by cold and heat factors. It also has the effects of resisting gastric mucosal injury, regulating gastrointestinal endocrine function and regulating immune function.

Tonifying and applying this recipe, adding tangerine peel on the basis of Sijunzi decoction, is intended to promote qi stagnation, invigorate the spleen and help transport, and has the advantages of tonifying without stagnation.

1. Gastritis and peptic ulcer are flavored with this recipe: Codonopsis pilosula10g, Atractylodes macrocephala10g, Poria cocos10g, Glycyrrhrizae Radix 5g, Pericarpium Citri Tangerinae 5g, Pinellia tuber 6g, Rhizoma Corydalis10g, and Radix Paeoniae Alba/kloc. Daily 1 dose, decocted in water for 20-30 days.

2. For chronic bronchitis, 9 grams of Semen Cuscutae, 6 grams of ginger, 0/2 grams of Salvia miltiorrhiza/kloc-and 9 grams of Oletum Trogopterori are added. Decoct with water, daily 1 dose, and take it continuously 1 month.
