Fresh strawberries 500g
Caster sugar 80g
Icing sugar 30g
Lemon half
Salt 1g
How to make homemade strawberry sauce ?
Wash the fresh strawberries, remove the tips and dry them, then cut them into cubes.
Add the cut strawberries to the sugar and mix gently, then refrigerate for 3 hours.
Put the icing sugar, strawberries and strawberry juice into a casserole dish, add a quarter of the fresh lemon juice and bring to the boil over a low heat. Skim off any white foam and simmer, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and bubbles, then add a quarter of the lemon juice and bring to the boil.
Place the strawberry sauce in a tightly sealed container that is free of oil and water, and refrigerate for up to a week.
