The Origin of Goubangzi Smoked Chicken
Goubangzi smoked chicken was founded in the 15th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (AD 1889). It is a traditional food outside the customs. Its founder Yin Yucheng was later called Yin. 1887, the young man Yin Yucheng went to Kanto alone. When he came to Goubangzi (now Goubangzi Town, Beizhen City, Liaoning Province), he saw the beautiful scenery and simple folk customs here and decided to settle down here. He opened a noodle restaurant with family craft, and the wine he brewed was called "Goubangzi Shaoshao".
Master Yin met an old man in rags on his way home and took care of him at home to make him recover quickly. Before leaving, the old man took out a secret recipe for smoked chicken from his pocket and told Master Yin: This is the secret recipe for smoked chicken in the court with more than 40 years' experience, which won the favor of the first emperor. I was framed for this secret recipe. If smoked chicken is sold according to this legal system, it will be a great success.
Yin Yucheng was overjoyed, smoked chicken according to this method, boldly innovated and improved the formula, and sold it with homemade shochu. Soon, "smoked chicken and shochu" became a famous snack in Goubangzi. With the help of his father-in-law, Master Yin founded a smoked chicken workshop at 1889, named "Goubangzi smoked chicken". Because of its unique taste, Goubangzi smoked chicken was deeply favored by local people and past merchants, and was later named "Imperial Chicken" by Imperial Diet. Among the people, Goubangzi smoked chicken is also known as the first of the "four famous chickens in China" and is famous all over the world.
