What creature is seahare?
Seahare is a sea rabbit, also known as a sea slug, but the sea rabbit is neither a rabbit nor a slug. It belongs to a shellfish living in shallow sea, and is a general term for mollusca, Gastropoda and Gymnopoda, so it is named because two pairs of antennae on its head protrude like rabbit ears.

① Morphological characteristics: the individual of the sea rabbit is small, with a body length of only10cm and a weight of about130g. Its body is oval and can be deformed during exercise. Sea rabbits are not mammals and have no fur outside. It belongs to gastropods of mollusca. However, it is different from common gastropods (such as abalone, snail, snail): the sea rabbit has no calcareous shell, but degenerates into a thin, transparent, spiral-free horny shell, which is buried under the back mantle and can't be seen from the outside, but is covered with a thin and translucent horny membrane on the back (this is the same as the slug, so it is also called sea slug)

② Living habits: Sea rabbits like to live in an environment with clear seawater, smooth water flow and overgrown algae, and feed on all kinds of algae. It has a very special ability to avoid enemies, that is, it turns into what color seaweed it eats. For example, a sea rabbit that eats red algae has a rose-red body, and a sea rabbit that eats fuciformis has a brown-green body. Some sea rabbits also have fluffy and dendritic protrusions on their body surface, which makes the shape, color and pattern of sea rabbits very similar to those of algae in their habitat, thus avoiding a lot of troubles and dangers for themselves.

③ Distribution: There are more than 3,000 species of sea rabbits, all over the world, including tropical and Antarctic waters. Although sea rabbits are distributed along the coast of China, especially in the southeast coast, and live in tropical waters, their colorful appearance is highly ornamental, but they have yet to be developed in China and even the whole world.
