The alias is Hezhang grass, Ascending the ladder, Jiaozi grass, Sailing grass, Dujing grass, Yebaozhi, Duyuecao, Duyuelian, Duyedui lotus and Juncus perforatum.

The source is the whole grass of Hypericum sampsonii Hance, a Hypericum genus plant in Hypericum family. Harvesting in summer and autumn, washing, drying or fresh use.

Original perennial herb, 0.5 ~1m high. Fibrous roots are slender and short. The stem is cylindrical, branched, smooth and hairless. The single leaf is opposite to each other, and the bases of the two leaves are completely combined like a boat, while the stem runs through the middle, and the leaves are long and elliptic and lanceolate. In autumn, the stem tops are cymes, the pedicels are slender, and the petals are 5, oval and yellow. The fruit is ovoid with yellowish brown glands. The seeds are small.

Sexual taste is pungent, bitter and cold.

Functions: clearing away heat and toxic materials, dredging channels and collaterals, cooling blood and stopping bleeding.
