Kanas Lake: a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction, a national geological park, a national forest park, a China nature reserve, a national natural heritage, a national low-carbon tourism experimental zone, the most beautiful lake in China, with snowy peaks of Kanas Lake towering over the green slopes and forests, with beautiful lakes and mountains, is known as "a fairyland on earth and a garden of gods".

"Kanas" is Mongolian, which means "beautiful and mysterious lake". Kanas Lake is located in the north of Burqin County, Altay Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The lake water comes from glacial meltwater and local precipitation in Kuitun, Youyifeng and other mountains. The lake surface is 1374 meters above sea level and covers an area of 45.73㎞? The deepest elevation of the lake is 1181.5 meters, the depth of the lake is 188.5 meters, and the storage capacity reaches 5.38 billion cubic meters. It is the deepest moraine dammed lake in China, an alpine lake and an inland freshwater lake located in the dense forest of Altai mountains.

Kanas Lake Scenic Area is a combination of exotic natural landscapes such as mountains, rivers, forests, lakes and grasslands, historical and cultural relics such as Genghis Khan's Western Expedition Army and ancient rock paintings, and the unique folk customs of Mongolian Tuwa people. There are several wonders in Kanas Lake.
