The 2023 Cross-Strait (Jimei) Dragon Boat Culture Festival and the 16th "Tan Kah Kee Cup" and "Jingxian Cup" Cross-Strait Dragon Boat Race kicked off in Longzhouchi, Jimei, Xiamen on the 3rd. Forty-seven dragon boat teams from both sides of the Taiwan Straits gathered in Xiamen to participate in this grand event, including the Taiwan Province Provincial Team 19 (including two Chinese mainland compatriots) and about 500 Taiwan Province compatriots.

This year's Dragon Boat Race is one of the activities of the 15th Straits Forum, which consists of four groups: young men's group and women's group, social men's group and women's group. The 200-meter and 500-meter straight races will be held on that day. On the morning of the 4th, the finals of "Jia Geng Cup" and "Jing Xian Cup" and the awarding ceremony will be held. On the afternoon of the 4th, the 8th China Dragon Boat Tug of War Open will be held.

On the basis of retaining the original folk activities, this year's Dragon Boat Festival has also set up four themes: Ya Dragon Boat Festival, Tong Qu Dragon Boat Festival, Folk Dragon Boat Festival and Chao Wei Dragon Boat Festival. Through activities such as dry land dragon boat race, Children's Fun Dragon Boat Festival, Bao jiaozi Competition, Minnan Folk Art Show, Dragon Boat Garden Party, Dragon Boat Culture Fantasy Night, etc., more citizens can experience dragon boat sports and inherit the dragon boat spirit.

This year's Dragon Boat Culture Festival is sponsored by China Dragon Boat Association, CPPCC Xiamen Municipal Committee and Fujian Provincial Sports Bureau, undertaken by Xiamen jimei district Municipal Government, Xiamen Municipal Sports Bureau, Xiamen Jimei School Committee and Xiamen Radio and Television Group, and assisted by Fujian Jinmen Compatriots Association.
