The eight bowls of Guanzhong are not soup, but eight different dishes. The Eight Great Bowls of Guanzhong, also known as the Eight Great Bowls of Shaanxi, include braised chicken, short crispy pork, steamed pork with rice flour, slivers of pork, pork elbows, braised pork with pickled vegetables, Sixi meatballs and eight-treasure sweet rice. These dishes are made by steaming and cooking in bowls, and most of them are meat dishes. These dishes are not only popular in the Guanzhong area, but also traditional delicacies during festivals in most parts of China. Guanzhong, a place name, refers to the area within the "Four Passes", namely Dongtong Pass, Xisan Pass (Dazhen Pass), Nanwuguan (Languan Pass), and North Xiao Pass. Currently, the Guanzhong area is located in the central part of Shaanxi Province, including five prefecture-level cities: Xi'an, Xianyang, Baoji, Weinan, and Tongchuan, with a total area of ??55,623 square kilometers.
