Douhu Lake is located in the southeast of Sabah, on an extended coastline, facing the Sulawesi Sea, and next to the inland mountains. Geographical location is 4.233o north and 117.833o east.
The town is divided into three areas: Shabindu, Fajia and Old Douhu. The Federal Building is the main location of Malaysian government departments, such as Immigration Department and National Registration Bureau, and is located in Sabindu District. Fajia is a modern business district of Douhu Lake, where major banks such as Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, Malaya Bank and Public Bank are located. The old Douhu Lake is the original district of Douhu Lake, with a central market and a port.
These have a beautiful Hui Church and many shops. Open-air stalls located at the seaside sell all kinds of seafood and delicious food. Douhu Wharf is a stop before going to Indonesia, so many ships from the Philippines and Indonesia are often parked here. The fish market here is very active, selling fresh fishing and hunting.
