the average American has three meals a day
breakfast: a simple breakfast, which may be fruit juice, cereal, baked bread and coffee. A hearty Breakfast can also include pancake, cornflakes, sausage, ham, and eggs in various ways. Oatmeal porridge that Americans often drink is made of oats and boiled into thick porridge, mixed with milk and sugar. Corn flakes are small crispy brown flakes made of corn flour, which are soaked in white sugar and milk until soft.
My magnificent breakfast
American breakfast is usually eaten at home. However, breakfast is sometimes used to discuss business or raise funds, which is called "working breakfast". Businessmen and politicians sometimes have breakfast with colleagues to start the day. The president often has breakfast with congressional leaders, during which he can learn about the prospect of completing the legislative procedures of his proposed bill. Missions and societies often hold fund-raising breakfasts, and volunteers prepare a hearty breakfast for guests who pay a certain fee.
Lunch: Because lunch is short and many people work far from home, people who go to work or school seldom go home for lunch, but bring meals from home. American lunch is the simplest of the three meals. It is often eaten with vegetable and sandwich, hamberger or Italian pizza, hotdog, and a drink.
Dinner: Americans attach great importance to dinner. Many friends' parties and business banquets are arranged in the evening, so dinner is generally rich.
usually, fruit juice or soup is served first, and then entree is served. The main courses we often eat are steak (beef), pork chop (pork chop), roasted beef (roasted beef), fried chicken (roasted chicken), fried shrimp (roasted shrimp), ham and roasted lamb chop. Vegetable, bread, butter, rice, noodle and so on are eaten with the main course. Europeans are used to eating fruit or cheese at the end, which is out of fashion in America. Most Americans like to eat a dessert in a restaurant, such as cake, cookie or ice-cream, and have a cup of coffee at last.
