The endings of Zhang Zuolin’s eight sons: 1. Zhang Xueliang As a figure spanning an entire century, Zhang Xueliang’s life is also legendary.
After graduating from the military academy, he followed Zhang Zuolin in the army, and later served as deputy commander of the Republic of China. He also launched the Xi'an Incident that shocked China and the world, which greatly dampened Chiang Kai-shek's spirit and caused him to suffer from life-long illnesses. Unfortunately, he failed and was placed under house arrest by Chiang Kai-shek until 1990.
He left Taiwan only in 2001.
His wives and concubines also stayed with him during the period of house arrest, especially the love story with Zhao Yidi, which has become a common topic for future generations.
Although his wife Yu Fengzhi never saw Zhang Xueliang again after arriving in the United States, she left an open space for Zhang Xueliang next to her cemetery.
It's a pity that Luo Hua was deliberately merciless. The 100-year-old Zhang Xueliang died in Hawaii and was buried with Zhao Yidi.
2. Zhang Xueming "Gourmet" Zhang Xueming studied in Japan when he was young and worked as a trainee military attache at the embassy in Japan.
After returning to China, he served as the Tianjin Police Chief and the Tianjin Mayor.
On the eve of 1949, Zhang Xueming resolutely stayed in Tianjin to wait for liberation and refused to go to Taiwan.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he also received the care of Premier Zhou and served as director of Tianjin People's Park and other positions.
Passed away on April 9, 1983, at the age of 75.
3. Zhang Xuezeng Zhang Xuezeng was the naughtiest and luckiest of Zhang Zuolin’s many children.
Naughty because no one in the family dares to disobey his father, only he dares to make demands of his father.
Fortunately, he was also on that train when Zhang Zuolin was killed in the bombing, but he survived because he went to another carriage.
Later, he studied in Japan and England, married Cai Shisan, and settled in the United States. Later, he served in the United Nations.
4. Zhang Xuesi Zhang Xuesi’s life was worthy of praise and tears. He came from a warlord family, broke away from his class of origin, actively devoted himself to the revolutionary cause, and became a glorious Communist Party member.
As early as when he was in school, he had his own ideals and plans. Going to Beijing to study was also his heart's desire. He learned a lot of progressive ideas there, saw the hope of saving the country, and actively joined the Communist Party.
Zhang Xuesi was studious and motivated, and rose through the ranks with numerous military exploits. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he served as vice president and deputy political commissar of the Dalian Naval School, and was awarded the rank of major general in 1955.
After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Zhang Xuesi was ordered by the central government to secretly go to Northeast China and serve as chairman of Liaoning Province and security commander.
Lin Feng, the head of the Northeast Bureau, suggested that he go back to the Marshal's Mansion to have a look, return the property to its original owner, and ask him to live in the Marshal's Mansion from now on.
But Zhang Xuesi did not agree and shook his head repeatedly, saying that he had no intention of going home.
It is a pity that Zhang Xuesi passed away due to illness at the age of 54 and did not live long enough to see the prosperity of New China.
5. As the fifth son, Zhang Xuesen was only seventeen years old when the Anti-Japanese War broke out. He later studied in the United States to study aviation technology, and settled in the United States to work in an airline company.
After Zhang Xueliang and Zhao Yidi went to the United States, Zhang Xuesi and his only daughter Zhang Luheng took care of them.
Zhang Xueliang also regarded his niece Zhang Luheng as his goddaughter, and Huang Dawei, who sang the song "Drunk Me Drunk", was Zhang Xuesen's grandson, and Zhang Xueliang became his godfather.
He died of illness in Beijing in 1995 and finally returned to his roots at the age of 75.
6. Zhang Xuejun There are relatively few records about Zhang Xuejun. He studied at Puren University in Beijing when he was young, and later worked as a translator for the Military Command Bureau, responsible for exchanges with the United States.
Later he moved to Macau and Taiwan.
7. The seventh son of Zhang Xueying was the most miserable among Zhang Zuolin's sons. He lived in Hong Kong and died of illness at the age of 26 because he had no money for medical treatment.
8. Zhang Xuequan Zhang Zuolin was only three years old when Zhang Zuolin died. He later moved to Tianjin with his mother and joined our army when he was young. However, he was discharged from the army due to injuries in the war and has remained in Tianjin.
Later, under the arrangement of Premier Zhou, Zhang Xuequan entered teaching in No. 55 Middle School and served as a member of the Tianjin District CPPCC.
He died of illness in Tianjin in 1996 at the age of 71.
