Zhengzhou Department Store, which was completed and opened in February, 1956, is the earliest large state-owned retail store in Henan Province after the establishment of New China. In 1989, it was approved as a "national second-class enterprise" by the State Council, and in the same year, it was awarded the title of "Top Ten Stores for Implementing Price Policies and Regulations in China".
