War, Life and Humanity-Schindler's List
It's really cool to lie in bed for three hours and watch this movie ... but I have to admit, you have to adjust your physical strength to watch this movie, otherwise you may be exhausted (you have to prepare your physical strength after watching my film review ...), which is really a bit long, 195 minutes, which is normal. Let's leave the overall feeling, which is the so-called first feeling. The theme must be anti-war, the idea of peace, and the emphasis on life. In terms of portraying characters, the description of characters is very in place, and the transformation of human nature is clearly expressed, such as Schindler and Stern, and it is also well paved. There is a bridge where the old Jew with a broken arm specially thanked Schindler and was later shot. Schindler was very angry when he learned about it. There are many places in the film that can bring great shock to Schindler's heart. The plot, specifically, has no plot. This film can also be regarded as a documentary. It is all practical statements. There is no thrilling shooting, earth-shattering love, treacherous intrigues, or some coincidences and adventures. Therefore, it is very likely that some viewers will give up watching such a long film at the beginning. Pictures and shots, I think this is the most worthy of analysis. There are too many wonderful shots, just like the clips in Once upon a time in America. There are also very clever clips in this film. For example, the montage at the beginning, the color scene is transformed into a black and white scene, and a close-up shot is used to show the burning of candles. Then, a wisp of white smoke is extinguished, and it is pushed closer to the camera, and the smoke is naturally white and the background is continued to be close-up. At this moment, it just changed to the black-and-white field, and then a clip, in which a wisp of white smoke extinguished by the candle cut into the smoke emitted by the locomotive, was really cool. Also, maybe at the beginning, you would think that it was incomprehensible to spend so much time at the beginning of the film to give a close-up of typewriter typing, and even boring. But at the end, the second time, Stern typed every Jew's name on that old typewriter one by one, and you will find that there is no close-up of a typewriter that shocks your heart more than here! This is not just a list of slaves, as stern said: "This list is an absolute good. The list ... is life. All around its margins lies the gulf." Spielberg's storytelling skills are superb and can be described as excellent. Storytelling skills can probably become an important criterion for evaluating a good movie. Alas ~ who let somebody else is a master? I really didn't have much impression on the actors' performances. I guess it was also due to the record. In my mind, only Schindler and Stern performed well in some places. These are the overall first impressions.
in the early days, I explained that Schindler was wearing a piece, and the soundtrack was gloomy sunday, that is, the legendary killing music that was banned. Whoever listened to it died, and it was very hanging. But there is nothing strange about this tune here. From the beginning, the camera showed the master's level, clean and neat, and all the close-ups and close-ups were used to show Schindler's actions such as pouring wine, dressing and buttoning, and told the audience that this man is a fastidious person, and he must have some money, so many ties jumped, and the buttons on his cuffs were chosen for so long. Finally, the camera was given to the Nazi medal, indicating his identity as a member of the Nazi party.
The following paragraph is obviously intended to introduce Schindler's excellent communication and friend-wooing skills. It can be seen that he is a very tactful man. He is at least good at investing, and he is full of affinity. Those arrogant Gestapo leaders can chat with Schindler very speculatively in a few minutes (perhaps with money ... but the film is not expressed). You can see that one minute the officer will ask: "who's that man? "The next minute, they have been eating together is huan? So at the end of the photo shoot, you will see that all the senior officials present are in harmony with Schindler, which is really great.
Schindler's economic mind is described in the next paragraph. He is indeed a shrewd businessman, and the following black market transactions can be reflected again. This is a transitional period, introducing Stern's attitude towards Germans as a Jew and Schindler's sharp language.
Then there is a wonderful transition: Schindler lies on the big bed in a luxurious room and says, "it could not be better". Then the camera immediately cuts to the Jew who moved into the shabby room in the isolation area: "It could be worse. How on earth could it be worse?" It's wonderful. Stern is the protagonist in the latter paragraph, who has done a lot of work for Jews and helped Jews in need to enter Schindler's factory. In fact, this can be combined with the following jokes to reflect the cleverness of Jews. It is said that Jews are clever.
There are some interesting transitions in the film, that is, the words in one picture are moved to the previous picture and said. Often in this picture, you hear voices, but no one in the picture talks, and when the picture cuts to the next scene, it can be connected again. This can be regarded as a sound montage.
The first time Schindler and Stern had a drink, they were not happy. Stern was always hostile to Schindler, which was related to different nationalities.
Earlier, I mentioned the old man with a broken arm. While sweeping the snow, he was taken away by the Germans and died in their hands like a bug being trampled to death. It's so cruel. The bullet was on his forehead. Spielberg didn't show a person's death in a shot. The shot was a small whole, and the person who was shot didn't hide it when he died. We can see the whole process of killing people clearly, unlike some places in China, where the beheading and guillotine were performed, there were two shots, one in which the knife fell and the other in which the head fell to the ground. This is probably to prevent being banned by SARFT, and China movies can only be filmed in this way, otherwise I don't know how many movies were deleted by SARFT. Later, Spielberg also gave a close-up of a dead man, a close-up of the head of an old man with a broken arm. Blood was left from the back of the old man's head like a tap, like a small river, which dyed the snow on the ground a little. The death of the old man is heartbreaking. Thinking of his sincere thanks, he kindly explained to the German soldiers: "i work for schinder", and his heart was even more sad. Later, shot killed the Jewish female engineer, which made people feel that the Nazis were unreasonable and beast. There are too many scenes that remind me of the time when Japan invaded China. cao, I always had a grand ideal. I killed all the Japanese men and left all the Japanese women. I gave them to me. I played with the good ones and killed all the bad ones! ! (Of course, I will still let the Japanese who have remorse go.).
Then, stern was caught on the train to be taken away, and Schindler rushed over to rescue him like a lost soul, which showed the great importance of stern to Schindler. This company is run by this clever Jew, and we can also see the excellence of this man in the back. Everything is arranged in an orderly way for Schindler, and there are clear records about when it is, when it is the birthday of a senior official, when it is time to give gifts, etc. Schindler can't live without him.
The following paragraph is a small climax. The Germans started to slaughter Jews. We can see the cleverness of Jews, for example, hiding their treasures in bread and putting them in their mouths. The hiding place is very secret, and some people escape by drilling sewers. Unfortunately, the cruelty of the Germans was more real than their cleverness, and almost all of them were killed later, except for a few Jews. That part of the hospital made people feel deeply and realized the evil of war more. The doctor took out the poisonous poison and divided it into several small cups for the Jews in the hospital bed to drink. In the place where the last person drank it, the camera broke my heart. It was poison, but the woman smiled so peacefully and happily. It's much easier for them to die quietly than for the Germans who rushed in and shot them to death in bed. The name of the German child who saved Danka's mother and daughter is Adam, and his name is like his heart, so kind. Killing, bloody, all this was seen by Schindler at the top of the mountain. Killing, killing, naked killing, every time a person was killed, Schindler's mind received a painful impact, and his conscience, the beautiful side of his human nature, was awakened little by little. In this place, a strange colored person appeared in the black and white world. She is a little girl in bright red, and her appearance definitely has her meaning, or rather, it is a symbol. Red, the color of blood (not sexual desire here, of course), but it represents life and hope. The little girl walked like an outsider in the chaotic street. It seemed that the Germans couldn't see the little girl and no one cared about him, but Schindler did. She saw the little girl. It can be said that this fable told Schindler a red, kind and beautiful heart, and his heart shone with the brilliance of human nature, so he could see the little girl. The little girl walked like a bystander while walking, and she also became a narrator. The camera followed the little girl. Everywhere she went, there were Germans killing people. Schindler saw the little girl and killed people. Finally, the little girl died, but Schindler inherited the color of the little girl's clothes.
it's wonderful to get that big panoramic shot down! ! This fixed lens has 1 seconds, and all the audience can see is the building and windows. The music is Mozart's piano music played by a German officer. When the music is matched, the window of the building will start to flash. Of course, we all know that this flash is emitted when shooting people. This feeling is full of contrast effect.
In the film, hand-held cameras take up most of the time, which helps to reproduce the history and enhance the expressive force, such as showing people's panic and escape, and the effect is good.
I mentioned Stern's importance to Schindler and Stern's hostility to Schindler, but this is gradually disappearing. He began to try to thank Schindler, although it was still difficult to export.
From then on, Schindler began to be kind. First, he saved Ribado, who survived because of an officer's pistol problem, and then he took in an alert little boy. Then, although he was a little angry with stern, he put the Jacobs into the factory. The music, hehe, was a classical guitar soundtrack. It sounded just right, at least it could enrich Schindler's image.
Schindler also tried to save Oman's soul and said some very profound words. What is power? What is right? Jews can control the power of life and death of Jews. This is not a right, this is justice. Power is when we have every justice to kill and we don't. Pardon is power. It is the war that exposes the ugly side of human nature. In fact, as Schindler said, Oman is actually a good man, but the war has turned him into a devil. From here, we can also see that this is an anti-war film, and it is also said at the end of the film that it is dedicated to 6, Jewish compatriots. Oman tried pardon others, but in the end, the power of his humanity could not match the power of the devil. Oman actually shows a little humanity, that is, on the other hand, the feelings for Helen. He once tried to love this servant beyond the gap of rank and race, but he still couldn't, so this can only be turned into hatred. We can see that being a German officer also has his pain and helplessness. Finally, fortunately, he gave Helen hope and wrote her name on Schindler's list.
is another beautiful montage sentence. A few back-and-forth clips, Schindler and the singer's kiss, Oman and Helen's kiss, make people look almost synchronous, but the results are quite different. Schindler got the kiss, while Oman abused Helen because of hatred.
Schindler's birthday, the picture is also very good. Schindler's workers' representatives, a beautiful Jewish girl and a little Jewish girl, took a small and shabby cake and brought blessings to Schindler with trepidation. At this time, the cheerful music stopped, and the eyes of the German officers around him were full of hostility and strangeness. Strangely, Schindler can smile at jews, kiss a beautiful Jewish girl in front of so many people, and even can't hear the reminder of the German officer next to him.
The part of spraying water on the train further expresses Schindler's transformation. Schindler is not an earth-shattering hero, and his just behavior seems to be a bit smooth and some are not authentic, but this is the character of a businessman, and it is understandable. Therefore, in Oman's view, spraying water on the train is a very interesting thing, and all the officers around it think it is "interesting", but Schindler sprayed water to quench the thirst of the Jews in the car and give them water to drink. Here is a well-known small contrast.
When stern learned that Schindler had spent all his savings to "buy" Jewish lives, he finally accepted Schindler completely. Money, money seems so small and humble in front of life, so Schindler chose life, and chose a greater one. Money may make him live more comfortably. He can live in a good house, buy a car, have a woman, have a good time, and buy whatever he wants, so that his family and wife can live a good life. But Schindler didn't do this. No, money is not everything to a person. No, money is just a kind of. The real existence of Schindler makes me feel a little relieved about the world and keep some hope a little. Finally, Schindler's arsenal produced almost all unqualified arms, and it has been losing money. Schindler knew that he hated war, and he didn't allow himself to make weapons to kill others.
fortunately, the Germans surrendered when they were about to go bankrupt. The story also reached its climax. It was here that Spielberg made me cry. Of course, there was history, life and the Jews' gratitude to a German. This is power! This is the real "right"! Did you see Schindler leaving? All the Jews took off their hats in unison. This is the right! Because you've got their hearts! Oman may never understand. "Whoever saves one life, saves the world", this sentence can be regarded as the essence of this film. Schindler's tears were relieved by all Jews.
