Kpop has become mainstream culture in South Korea for more than 20 years. The songs from the past are still very exciting to listen to now, and the current songs are becoming more and more innovative. For Korean Wave-related tourism, tourists spend an average of approximately US$1,007 (approximately 1.21 million won). Most of this was spent on daily shopping (US$302, approximately KRW 360,000), while accommodation (US$184, approximately KRW 220,000), food and beverages (US$155, approximately KRW 180,000), and Hallyu-related shopping ( 138 US dollars, about 160,000 won). The survey also found that Hallyu-related tourism accounted for 7.4% of all inbound tourism (i.e. foreign tourists) in 2019, approximately 1,116,422 people. If the definition of "Korean Wave" is not limited to K-pop music or K-pop artists, but also includes Korean food and Buddhist temples, then Hallyu-related tourism will account for 55.3% (8,553,234 people).
