The artificial Tianhe Red Flag Canal is known as one of the eight wonders of the world.

Hongqi Canal, also known as the Man-made Tianhe, is located in Linzhou City, Henan Province. It is a water diversion irrigation project built from the mountainside of Taihang Mountain.

Taking the Zhuozhang River as its source, the head of the canal is located at the end of Houbi, Shicheng Town, Pingshun County, Shanxi Province.

The construction project lasted 10 years, during which 15.1582 million cubic meters of earth and stone were excavated, 152 aqueducts were erected, 211 tunnels were dug, and 12,408 various buildings were built.
