Introduction of Xunpu Village
Liaopu Village is a famous fishing village and historical and cultural village in Fengze District, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province. Located in the east of Donghai Town (now Donghai Sub-district Office), on the bank of Zuohekou in the lower reaches of Jinjiang River in Quanzhou Bay, with an area of about 3.8 square kilometers. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it belonged to the thirty-fifth and thirty-sixth capitals of Jinjiang County, and was the postal road store in the east corner of Quanzhou Prefecture. During the Republic of China, Pucun had jurisdiction over Linhai Township and Fashen Town. Xunpu Village (now Xunpu Community) was originally named Qianpu Village. Later, on the birthday of Mother Mazu, the villagers of Yangdai Village in Jinjiang jointly presented a satin account, inadvertently writing "Qianpu" as "Zhongpu". The villagers also think that this place is rich in red sturgeon and shrimp, so it is more appropriate to name it. Therefore, the village name "Zhongpu" has been used to this day.
