Qingming Festival, also known as "Outing Festival", "Xingqing Festival", "March Festival", "Ancestor Worship Festival", etc., is on the 105th day after the winter solstice and the 15th day after the spring equinox, usually around April 5th in the Gregorian calendar.

It originates from ancestral beliefs and spring ritual customs in ancient times. It is also a natural solar term. It is known as the four traditional festivals in China along with the Spring Festival, Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival.
