Breaking the grain, also known as "breaking the grain", "breaking the grain", "breaking the grain", "stopping the grain" and "breaking the grain", means not eating the whole grain, which alchemists and Taoists regard as a method of cultivating immortality. Taoism believes that when people eat whole grains, they should accumulate feces in their intestines, which will produce foul smell and hinder the road to longevity. "Huang Ting Neijing" says: "Cooper eats the essence of the earth, the evil spirits smell from the outside, and the stinking things are zero." So, how can we make the baby recover from old age? "At the same time, there are three worms (three corpses) in the human body, which depend on this valley gas to survive. With its existence, people have evil desires and cannot become immortals. Therefore, in order to clear the dirty gas in the intestine and get rid of the three corpse worms, we must break through the valley. Therefore, Taoism imitates the immortal behavior described in Zhuangzi Xiaoyao Tour, hoping to achieve the goal of immortality.
Begging for Valley originated in the pre-Qin period, which is similar to the time of Qi-invigorating. The collection of etiquette works before Qin and Han Dynasties, Easy Life and Core Monuments, said: "Those who eat meat are brave and fierce, those who eat grain are wise and clever, those who eat gas die like gods, and those who don't eat die like gods." It is the earliest theoretical basis of the art of crossing the valley. There are similar records in Huainanzi Dizhi. There are also examples in The World. For example, in the Spring and Autumn Period, a one-sided leopard lived in the mountains of Lu and drank streams. "I don't wear silk and hemp, I don't eat grain, and I still have the color of a boy." He is the earliest practitioner of breaking the valley recorded in Historical Records. 1973 Among the silk books unearthed from Mawangdui Han Tomb in Changsha, there is an article "Going to the Valley to Eat Qi", which is the earliest existing work before the Han Dynasty. There is a cloud: "Those who go to the valley eat pyrrosia. ..... first, light feet, strong body. Then you can cook (blow) it, depending on the efficiency. " It means that when you first go to the valley, you often have top-heavy hunger, which must be overcome by "blowing". Here, the combination of Bi Gu and Hodge, just like the intentional combination of Hodge and Guidance in Zhuangzi, seems to indicate that these three technologies first existed in the pre-Qin period, that is, they appeared at the same time. After the establishment of Taoism, many people inherited this technology and practiced the valley. According to the biography of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, Wang Zhen, an alchemist in the Eastern Han Dynasty, was "away from the valley for more than 200 years", with handsome skin and a horse, and several people. The Biography of Fang Shu in the Later Han Dynasty says: "(Hao) Meng can save energy for five or ten years, including jujube stones without eating." There is a story about how to be kind to the valley in Cao Zhi's Lun Dao, saying that he once tried to "bow to the place where he sleeps" and "not go to the valley for 100 days, ... walking and living are very comfortable". Among the alchemists attracted by Cao Cao, Shi Gan, Zuo Ci, Feng Junda and Lushi girls all practiced divination. Ge Hong, a Taoist priest in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, opposes the idea that one-way crossing the valley can lead to immortality (he advocates that the person who chooses magic should be Xi Zhi, especially the elixir of life). He believes that one-way crossing the valley can lead to immortality, which is a "one-sided theory" of practitioners, but he does not doubt the fitness and longevity effects of crossing the valley. He said in "Miscellaneous Answers to Bao Puzi's Internal Articles": "The others have been light in body and good in color for more than three years." And give a concrete example to prove this point: Shi Chun, a Taoist in the Three Kingdoms, often did not eat for a month or a hundred days when he used qi to treat people. After hearing this, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty was very suspicious and said, "This is a phone call for taking medicine, which makes people ready. In spring, I only need three or two liters of water. After more than a year, the color of spring is fresher and the strength remains the same. " "Feng Shengsheng, but he has submit to humiliation, broken valley for three years. He watched him climb the mountain and carry heavy loads all day. " According to the Records of Wei's Old Records, Kouqian, a Taoist priest of the Northern Wei Dynasty, gave him a recipe to guide the valley under the pretext of Laojun, and more than a dozen disciples got it. Donglai Taoist Wang lived in seclusion in Hanshan, isolated from the world for more than forty years. "Seven Signs of Yun Qi" has been published for five years. Sun has an appointment to "practice calligraphy but take Guxian Pill for 67 years, and her face is light, moist, fine and clean." According to "Biography of Southern History and Caolu", Deng Yu, a Taoist priest in Nanyue, "broke the valley for more than 30 years, only taking water with mica tablets and reciting the Great Hole Sutra day and night." Tao Hongjing "is good at guiding the valley. He lived in seclusion for forty years, and when he was in his eighties, he had a strong ability. " "Biography of the Northern History of Caolu" said that Taoist Chen and Xu Ze "refused to raise cotton wool, although they refused to collect cotton wool in the middle of winter". According to the Book of the Old Tang Dynasty, Pan Shi, a Taoist priest in the Tang Dynasty, lived in Songshan for more than 20 years, "but he drank water from pine leaves." His disciple Sima Yi Cheng Zhen also taught him the skills of guiding and taking the bait. According to the Records of the History of Song Dynasty, Chen Tuan, a Taoist priest in the early Song Dynasty, lived in Jiushiyan, Wudang Mountain. He "lived for more than 20 years, but drank several cups every day". According to "History of Song Dynasty" and biographies, Zhao was naturally "not eating, but he had a fresh air. Every time he smells fire and eats gas, he vomits and only produces fruit and spring water. " Chai Xuantong "is over 100 years old, good at avoiding the valley and screaming, only drinking." Historical records and Taoist books are numerous. It can be seen that from the Han Dynasty to the Song Dynasty, the art of crossing the valley has been very popular in Taoism. Historical records show that so many people have crossed the valley for months, years or even decades, which is inevitably exaggerated and untrue, but it is not pure fantasy. 198865438+1October 7th, the third edition of People's Daily reported that Xiong Ruoding, a 25-year-old girl from Yuexingtang Village, Xiongjiapu District, Macheng City, Hubei Province, was seriously ill at the age of fifteen and her life was dying. She stopped drinking water when she was out of danger. So far, she has not eaten rice for ten years. Surprisingly, after eight years in bed, she has been able to walk independently, talk and laugh freely, and do some housework. This is really a miracle on earth. In the process of spreading and learning the technique of breaking the grain, the road flyover of classification once wrote a special book on breaking the grain, and discussed and expounded the method of breaking the grain. Bao Puzi's Inner Chapter Yuanguan records three volumes of Xiu Liang Jing. The Tongzhi Yiwenlue records one volume of Taiqing Broken Valley Method, one volume of Supreme Road of Breaking Grain, one volume of Stopping Grain Prescription, one volume of Taiqing Classic and one volume of Stopping Stove Prescription (or pill). The orthodox Taoist scriptures contains a lot. However, the contents contained in the book can be summarized into two categories: "advising people to avoid the valley" and "taking medicine to avoid the valley". (1) "Being persuaded to break the grain" refers to cooperating with being persuaded to break the grain, and on the basis of being persuaded, the purpose of breaking the grain is achieved through being persuaded. Specific statements vary, and some advocate that at the beginning of persuasion, drink one or two flax soup or crisp soup when hungry, or one or two glasses of wine, and only drink water when thirsty. Some people advocate gradually reducing food at the beginning of persuasion, reducing one bite of food every day to ten days. Some people advocate not forcing the valley, waiting for qigong to deepen, and naturally breaking the valley after three years. Specific methods can be found in all kinds of books on Qi, according to the chapter "Miscellaneous reactions in Bao Puzi", that is, the way to eat Qi at twelve o'clock, the way to eat Qi at the old star, the way to eat Qi at six or five years, and the way to think and eat Qi.
(2) "Taking medicine and avoiding food" refers to taking medicine and food. There are many prescriptions, such as taking beans, dates, flax (sesame), chestnuts, crispy skin, poria cocos, Polygonatum sibiricum, asparagus, ginseng and honey. It has high nutrition and slow digestion, and can be made into pills and pastes. After breaking the granules, one or two pills are taken orally to replace the granules. There is a formula that requires high nutrition and is difficult to digest. After a full meal, it will definitely break and can be used for a long time. Another meal is food, and then medicine to support what you eat. It is said that it can break the valley for three years. Others use herbs to cook certain stones and eat them.
