Tainan is a city with many temples. Temples grow generously and safely in the neighborhood and condense into the center of connecting emotions. This form of temples mixed with daily life secretly conforms to some localized romantic imagination. But it can't just soothe the soul, but it doesn't care about the stomach. I still remember that every time I joked with my friends who came to Tainan for the first time, the distribution of historical sites in Tainan is as high as the density of convenience stores. As long as there are historical sites, there must be delicious food next to them. I'm afraid I don't have enough to eat.
Walking is definitely a simple way to experience Tainan. It may not be so special, but it adds a lot of personal feelings. Many of the following scenic spots have left many footprints in the online world. If you are still afraid of getting lost, it is always right to ask Brother Gu more. By the way, don't forget the sun protection. The sun in Tainan is notoriously poisonous.
A good way not to get lost: two landmarks that will not be forgotten. First of all, all the places that must be passed in the all-day route. There are two landmark buildings: Tainan Railway Station and Minsheng Park (now called Tang Memorial Park). Please remember that no matter what kind of transportation you take, there is bound to be a stop at the railway station. (Passenger transport, a little more complicated. You can ask the local people to take you to the railway station. Back to the main entrance of the railway station, there is a three-way ring in front (ignore the left and right). Please always remember to take the road on your left. It's called Zhongshan Road. This is the only road you need to remember, connecting two landmarks. Go straight along Zhongshan Road, and you will see a circle. This is Tang Memorial Park, which is also called Minsheng Park by local people.
Tainan Fruit Confucius Temple
After entering Minsheng Green Park, in order to avoid getting lost, please look for the direction of Nanmen Road (left front). After entering Nanmen Road, you will find a big temple on your right, which is the first Confucius Temple in Taiwan Province. Go on, arrive at the intersection of Fu Qian Road, and start our first scenic spot today. Let's start with fruit.
Lili fruits shop
Whether it's a fruit shop or an ice shop, remember to order their tomatoes with sauce. I still remember the first time I ate tomatoes dipped in ginger paste, and it tasted surprisingly good. You will find that the impression of tableland is salty soy sauce paste, and tableland can be so sweet and delicious.
Fu Ji rou yuan
The meatballs in Tainan are different from those in other cities (such as Changhua and Hsinchu). Generally, meatballs are cooked in an oil pan, while those in Tainan are cooked in a steamer, which is refreshing and not greasy. Therefore, the taste is not as elastic as fried meatballs, but you can enjoy the rice flavor in the dough. Finally, don't forget to drink the remaining sauce with bone soup.
Yu Ji, Pafu, Tainan
Next, we are going to move and continue to walk along Nanmen Road. Maybe it's a little heavy, but it's definitely worth it. By the way, we can experience the elegance of this city with a little pride. Then you will meet a green land like a park, which is the first place to refresh you, Wu Fei Temple. She can make her head dizzy in the morning because of riding or lack of sleep slowly spread out with the green.
Wu Fei Miaoyuan was originally the place where five concubines of Ning Zhu Shugui were buried in the late Ming Dynasty. After Shi Lang captured Penghu, Zhu Shugui was designated as a martyr, and five accompanying concubines (Yuan, Wang, Xiu Gu, and He Jie) hanged themselves in nave. Zhu Shugui personally mourned and buried the coffins of five concubines in today's Wu Fei Temple. It is also one of the cultural landmarks designated by the state for women in Taiwan Province Province.
Perhaps for today's women, the idea of suicide with her husband may be regarded as nonsense, but it is undeniable that even suicide with her husband takes courage. In addition to the antique buildings, the Wu Fei Temple now naturally forms a nearby coffee shop settlement. If you have time, come and have a rest early in the morning, so that you can avoid waiting for the toxic sunshine to directly stun yourself and confuse the next trip. When I left here, it was almost noon, so I provided two other good ways to cool down:
Guo mung bean soup
You must drink a glass of good wine to cool off the heat. If you are afraid of heat, this mung bean juice will definitely clear your heart and reduce fire. At the moment of entrance, the natural sweetness flows into the mouth like silk, the taste is not very strong, and the memories are endless.
EVA EVA Japan puffs
Full of weight, crisp outside and solid inside, girls may not finish eating it by themselves (remember to open the other stomach of dessert first), and even close the store when it is sold out late.
Sea breeze, coffin, Tainan
Have you had enough rest? We will move again, but we must take a step quietly here. Please wave on the main road and ask the taxi driver to drive you to Chikan coffin board on Zhongzheng Road and Hai 'an Road. How can I come to Tainan without a coffin board? This is how to wash away the title of Taipei custom. The coffin board is made by frying thick slices of toast until golden brown, scooping it up, hollowing out the middle, adding stuffing, cooking the stuffing with broth, thickening it with some milk, and then covering the toast with a lid to make a delicious coffin board.
Chikan coffin edition
Very sweet! So don't be scared by the sweetness of the entrance. Remember that the coffin board should be hot, and it is best to burn it a little.
When you leave the coffin plate, if it's near evening, you should see that the seafood stalls on Hai 'an Road are ready for business. Hai 'an Road is the Great Shenzhen from the tableland, and eating and drinking along the water's edge is the most pleasant thing, so naturally there are seafood shops on both sides, and then the Great Shenzhen is underground, but the seafood shop stayed by the way. Remember to go back to Minsheng Green Park along Zhongzheng Road when you return. On the way back, walk along the right side of Zhongzheng Road, and you can also drink the famous Shuangquan black tea by the way. Along the road, there are the earliest department stores in Taiwan Province, Lin Department Store and Taiwan Province Provincial Literature Museum, and the former Tainan State Government Building (where the government agencies were then located), which can be visited.
Shuangquan black tea
Different from the familiar black tea with sugar and ice, it is famous for its ancient taste and heavy tea body. The bitterness of black tea, which many people are afraid of, has been successfully converted into sweetness here. It is recommended to drink warm tea, which the baker can definitely enjoy.
After walking back to Minsheng Green Park, remember to find Zhongshan Road and you can return to Tainan Railway Station smoothly. You can also visit department stores along Zhongshan Road and blow a cool breeze to avoid dizziness in the sun.
My home in Tainan, my temple and my Calvino continue to talk about the city and its memory: "The city will not reveal its past, but will only hide it like a palm print and write it on street corners, panes, handrails of stairs, antennas of lightning rods and flagpoles. Every link has traces of scratching, carving and doodling. Tainan is a city full of thickness, and everyone has a way to remember her. Just like the Tainan people who grew up with her, she may be a little arrogant at first glance, but after approaching, she will find that the unparalleled connotation is enough for everyone to put forward their own appearance of Tainan, and it won't be long before she will be deeply addicted to such a leisurely trip.
