Introduction: Yantai No. 2 Middle School in Shandong Province was founded in 1866 (the fifth year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty). It was the first new school founded after Yantai opened as a port in 1861.
In 1959, it was established as a provincial key middle school by the Shandong Provincial Government. In 1980, it was identified as one of the "first batch of 18 key middle schools in Shandong Province". In 1993, it was rated as one of the first batch of standardized schools by the Shandong Provincial Education Commission. In 2007, it was selected
"China's century-old famous school".
Yantai No. 2 Middle School currently has Yuhuangding Campus, Laishan District Campus and the High-tech Zone Campus built in 2014.
There are 5,600 students at the school, 426 faculty members, 120 teachers with postgraduate degrees, 3 special teachers, and 206 senior teachers.
