Traveling is a physically demanding activity. I don’t like traveling in groups. Most of the scenic spots are visited, which is really tiring. For this reason, I asked a friend to go to Suzhou during the Dragon Boat Festival because I am a tourist myself. Although it is my first time to go to Suzhou, I am very familiar with the scenic spots in Suzhou. Now I will talk about our experience in Suzhou for the reference of the majority of travel enthusiasts.
Train to Suzhou is the best choice. A train ticket is 26 yuan, and it only costs more than 50 yuan for a round trip. It takes 40 minutes to reach Suzhou. If you take the bus, you still don’t know where you are.
Don’t leave Suzhou Railway Station. If you buy a map from a vendor outside the station, you will be surrounded by so many business people that you will not be able to escape. It is recommended that you go to a store near the station to buy a map, so as not to attract attention.
I bought a map. Find a place to stay immediately. Cross the bridge across from the train station, which is where Motel, Hanting, and GreenTree Inn are located. Or hail a rickshaw outside the station and tell him the price range of the hotel you want to stay in or the location of the scenic spot, and he will pick you up. When you get there, the price is also very cheap. We stayed at the Shantang Inn on Shantang Street in Suzhou, which cost 180 yuan/room. You can also stay in the Humble Administrator's Garden, near the Lion Grove, and the price is relatively expensive. I think. For high-end accommodation, go to Jinji Lake Shilla or Wu Palace Sheraton.
In fact, the most distinctive thing about Suzhou is the gardens. Whether it is Humble Administrator’s Garden, Liuyuan Garden, Ding Garden or Tiger Hill, they are all of the same type. If After you visit the Humble Administrator's Garden and then the Lingering Garden, you will find that they have many similarities, but the historical allusions and a few scenic spots are different. If you visit too much, it will cause visual fatigue. It is recommended to pick a few classics. Jinji Lake in the east of Suzhou is a good place to visit at night. It is recommended to go there if you have time.
Guanqian Street in Suzhou is also a good place to visit at night. It is equivalent to the Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street in Shanghai, with various There are all kinds of shops, including Nike, Adidas, Li Ning, Jeanswest, Meters, etc. The whole street is just a commercial street. We didn’t plan to buy clothes or shoes, so we went straight to the largest and most famous store on Guanqian Street to buy some. "Zhizhai" has an absolutely garden appearance and we went there at night, the lights were shining and very beautiful. The items inside are also very cheap, dried tofu (look for the Jinjin brand) ranges from 2 yuan to 5.5 yuan, and rice dumpling candy is 15 yuan/jin. , and some gummies are also priced at 15 yuan per catty. 100 yuan can fill your backpack. If you want to buy something, you must go to Caizhizhai (not an advertisement).
Let’s talk about it. For food, there are actually no special dishes in Suzhou. The most famous one is the Suzhou noodle restaurant. You must eat a bowl of noodles when you come to Suzhou. We went to a noodle restaurant on Shantang Street. I ordered the fried fish and braised pork noodles. Prices of more than 15 yuan in Beijing and Shanghai are only 9 yuan in Suzhou, so cheap!
When you go to Suzhou to buy gifts for others, you can’t just give them dried tofu, rice dumplings, candies, etc. You should give silk to ladies. ;Giving Su cigarettes to men

2. Tips about transportation
If you have enough time, it is better to try taking the bus. There are many bus lines in Guanqian Street, which can take you to many other attractions. Generally, there is no need to transfer, so you can choose the destination based on the bus stops.
If you want to save time, you can actually take a taxi, because Suzhou is not a big city and taxis are not expensive (compared to Shanghai).
Note: Never take a local tricycle. Apart from taking you to some fake attractions, it is not safe!
3. Recommendations for Suzhou food:
The most famous Suzhou-style restaurants are “Deyuelou” and “Songhelou” (both on Guanqian Street). Among them, the Su-style signature dishes, such as: squirrel mandarin fish, shark's fin in clear soup, eel paste with oil, watermelon chicken, whole chicken with mother oil, Taihu water shield soup, emerald shrimp bucket, lotus stew, etc. are all worth trying.
The specialty of Deyuelou (No. 27, Eunuch Lane, just next to Guanqian Street) is that the menu changes in due course according to the seasons. In spring, there is cherry sauce meat; in summer, there are steamed anchovies, maple trotters, steamed pork with lotus sauce, etc.; in autumn, there are chestnut yellow braised chicken, fat-free pork; in winter, there are bone-in eight-treasure chicken, boiled herring, assorted hot pot, etc.
Songhe Tower (No. 141 Guanqian Street) was founded during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. It has a history of more than 200 years and is a representative of traditional Jiangsu cuisine. Squirrel mandarin fish, Biluo shrimp, braised meat and tofu, etc. are all the signature dishes of this restaurant.
4. Good places for nightlife in Suzhou:
I personally recommend Shiquan Street, known as the gathering place for nightlife in Suzhou. Here, there are several shops where you can experience Suzhou teahouse culture, such as Qiantang Tea Man at the Wuqueqiao intersection of Shiquan Street (tea costs 50 yuan) or Shuitiantian at the entrance of Fenghuang Street, Shiquan Street (tea costs 38 yuan). The nightclub starts at 0 o'clock and lasts until 2 o'clock in the middle of the night. The tea package already includes the cost of picking up a variety of tea snacks and various snacks on your own, which is absolutely great value and will keep you satisfied. Qiantang Tea People also has a Pingtan performance at 8pm every night, which is worth experiencing.
