There are roughly two concepts of delicious food. One is that it is indeed delicious food that makes people unforgettable after eating it.
The most delicious meal I have ever eaten that I will never forget is a meal of chicken and rice.
I was born in 1970. When I was a child, my family had many sisters and was very poor. We rarely ate meat throughout the year.
I remember one year, a big rooster that my family had raised for two years was bitten to death by a dog when it was looking for food outside. At that time, I didn’t know about rabies, so my mother immediately boiled water to remove its hair. Oh, the chicken skin is all yellow, I just want to take a bite.
My aunt who works in the city gave me 5 kilograms of rice when she came home to visit relatives. My mother said that since I rarely eat chicken and I have never eaten rice, I just treat it as a Chinese New Year to let the children quench their greed.
So the chicken was stewed and the rice was steamed.
There is a layer of butter floating on the cooked chicken, and the rice is sizzling in the pot with aroma. Mom keeps stirring, and we gather around the big pot until it is finally cooked.
The fragrant white rice is topped with the yellow chicken soup. It is so fragrant and delicious that we have never tasted before. Each one of us has a round belly after eating it.
I will never forget this stew. The ingredients are simple. It really gave me endless aftertaste.
