Gulangyu Island: Gulangyu Island is separated from Xiamen by water, and the Xiamen-Gulang Island Strait is only more than 700 meters long.
The strange rocks on Gulangyu Mountain are stacked into caves. The sea breeze blows in the cave and the sound of the waves is like thunder, hence the name.
There are no vehicles here, and anyone arriving in Gulang has to walk on two legs.
In the morning, we visited the scenic spots in the west and north of the island: Xiamen Underwater World, the former U.S. Consulate, Xiamen Museum, Organ Museum, Trinity Church, Zheng Chenggong Memorial Hall, Sunlight Rock Scenic Area, Longshan Cave, residential areas, and Longtou Road Commercial Street.
After lunch and shopping, visit the scenic spots in the east and south of the island: Xiamen Music School, the former British Vice Consulate, Lin Qiaozhi’s former residence, Yuyuan Garden, Shuzhuang Garden, and Haoyue Garden.
The most important scenic spot on the island is Sunlight Rock.
Longtoushan on the island has strange rock peaks, and the top is Sunlight Rock.
There are two huge rocks on the top of the mountain, one high and one low. The high one is upright and the low one is horizontal. They are called Camel Peak. They can be seen from a long distance and have become the symbol of Gulangyu Island.
When you go up Longtou Mountain, the first thing you see is a huge rock with four characters "Tianfeng Haitao" engraved across it, and two lines of characters "Gulangdongtian" and "Lujiang No. 1" juxtaposed below.
The places where there are inscriptions are the scenic spots on the mountain.
Under Sunlight Rock, there is a red brick building, which is the Zheng Chenggong Memorial Hall.
In the southwest corner of Gulangyu Island, there is a unique garden building - Shuzhuang Garden.
This garden covers an area of ??less than ten acres, but it is adjacent to the mountains and the sea. The garden is built on the sea, and the sea is in the garden. The garden is decorated with the sea, and the sea is used to expand the garden. It is integrated. Visitors feel that the scale of this garden is not small.
Entering from the garden gate, a yellow wall blocks visitors' view.
All you can see is a small courtyard with a flower bed decorated with potted flowers.
Only when you walk out from the Meishou Hall on the right or the arch on the left, the vast sea suddenly appears in front of you.
This is the artistic conception of "Zang Haiyuan", which is to let the sea hide before it appears.
This is a commonly used technique in Chinese garden architecture.
