Changzhou, a city with a long history in the south of the Yangtze River, is a famous city of culture and food. Changzhou is an excellent choice to taste authentic Jiangnan cuisine. The following are three Changzhou cuisines that I have personally experienced.
The first place is Tianxianglou, a breakfast franchise store in Changzhou. The specialty snacks in this shop are duck oil sesame seed cake and dried bamboo shoots pot cover noodles, which are very famous. Duck oil biscuits are crisp and delicious, and the salty taste of duck oil is memorable. Dried bamboo shoots and sweet-scented osmanthus on the pot cover have rich fragrance, delicious soup and strong noodles, which are very distinctive.
The second place is Jin Dingxuan, a crab-yellow soup dumpling shop in Changzhou. The soup base in this shop is thin and tender, and each soup bag is rich in crab roe. As soon as you bite the soup, it will gush out, salty and delicious. In addition to the crab yellow dumplings, the steamed stuffed buns here are also very delicious, which is definitely a delicious place not to be missed.
The third place is the famous local bridgehead ribs. The ribs here are delicious, the sauce is rich, they melt in the mouth, and the aroma is overflowing after roasting. In addition, the roast duck here is also excellent, with tender meat, crisp skin and silky taste.
Generally speaking, Changzhou is rich in food, and the above three places are highly recommended by me personally. Whether you are a local or a foreign tourist, you must come and taste the delicious food here!
