I had a rest yesterday. I took bus No.54 alone, and I was going to visit Sanzao mass grave.
I searched Baidu on my mobile phone before, and I thought I got off at the Yulong Station, but I was forced when I got off. I didn't find it. I didn't know I would continue to take the bus until I asked the way. So I walked along the river to Chinatown Station, took bus No.54 and got off at Maotian Station, and finally found it. In fact, you can also take a bus to Tiantang Station, one stop ahead, and then walk back. Because the site of mass graves is just in the middle of Maotian and Shengtang stations.
It's easy to find a mass grave. Maybe I didn't do enough homework before. In fact, I took the 54 bus before, but I just didn't pay much attention to the roadside scenery. Not much to say, let's take two photos.
Sanzao, Zhuhai is the place where the first shot was fired by the Japanese army in Zhuhai. In January 1938, the Japanese army landed on Sanzao Island. In the following months, 2,891 compatriots were killed, 3,5 people starved to death, and more than 3, migrant workers from North Korea, Taiwan Province, Hengqin and other places were secretly killed.
In 1948, people who fled from Sanzao successively returned to the island to bury the remains of the victims in Shangmao Village, and in 1979, they were buried in the present Zhuli Mountain. Today, the total area of the Sanzao ten thousand-person site has reached 4, square meters. On the left side of the gate archway, it is engraved that China's anti-violence and strong mountains and rivers will last forever, and on the right side, it is engraved that the Japanese puppet forces have shed their blood on the world for thousands of years, and they are very imposing. Walking along the steps, there is an octagonal pavilion on the left and right sides, and then walking up, it is an eye-catching monument engraved with the monument to the 323 dead compatriots in Sanzao Island, and behind the monument is a mass grave.
Castle Peak can't be covered. After all, it flows to the east. Although this tragic history has passed, the story about mass graves in Sanzao Island will be spread in people's hearts forever, inspiring the broad masses of people to be brave after learning shame and work hard to build a prosperous and powerful motherland and hometown.
The Sanzao mass grave site in Zhuhai has been listed as the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units. However, due to its remote location and weak publicity, it seems that there are not many people who come here for fun.
Have you ever visited the Sanzao mass grave? Welcome to tell your story in the comments section below.
