The hunter is young and strong, but he has no wife and no children, and only an old mother is around him. He hunts in the mountains every day, and his house is full of animal meat and sparrow meat. The old mother can't bite the animal meat or chew the sparrow meat, so she has to be hungry when facing the delicacies, and she has to use ripe and chewy wild fruits to satisfy her hunger. The hunter felt very uncomfortable, so he thought about how to make his mother eat delicious meat dishes. At first, he smashed the cooked meat with stones and gave it to his mother. Later, the hunter selected a lean animal meat, chopped it into paste, added some fragrant wild vegetable powder, mixed it into paste, and brought it to the old mother. The old man tasted it and was full of praise, so he ate this kind of meat pulp called chopped raw with relish. The hunter was so happy that he chopped the fresh lean animal meat into paste every day for his old mother to eat. Since then, in Xishuangbanna, chopped raw food has become a delicacy to honor the toothless elderly.

After chopping became a folk home-cooked dish, families with elderly people began to stew and chop raw eggs with eggshells to honor the elderly. This kind of chopped raw food is called "tight brake flourishing" in Dai language, and its cooking method is called "Buddha", which is said to be particularly delicious. In Xishuangbanna, there is a popular saying among the people: "If you don't seize the nest, you won't seize the Buddha." (It means that the net roasting is not as good as the feeding roasting, and the package roasting is not as good as the simmering and chopping. This is a high praise for the simmering of egg shells.
