We set off from Wuhan with three elderly people with a combined age of over 200 years old and a little baby.

It took five days before and after the trip to Shennongjia, two days on the road and three full days in Shennongjia, visiting six major attractions.

Enter the mountainous area and walk along the stream. The scenery along the way is endless and dizzying. The Tiansheng Bridge is cool and beautiful, the Dajiu Lake is well-deserved, and the original ecology of Banbiyan is rugged and jagged.

The trip was tight and tiring, but the elderly and children were very satisfied and received unanimous praise.

I looked for a lot of guides before traveling, but I felt that none of them were detailed and accurate enough, and the reference for traveling was limited. After this trip, I will share with you my self-guided travel strategy.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Take the 7 o'clock train from Hankou Railway Station to Yichang East in the morning, take the direct bus next to the station to Yichang Pier and take the "High-speed Train" Take the "Xiapinghu" cruise ship and enjoy the coastal scenery such as the Three Gorges Dam and Xiling Gorge along the way. Arrive at Xingshan Xiakou Pier at about 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Charter a car from the pier to Muyu Town, check into the Muyu Town Hotel, and contact us about the three-day charter during your stay in Shennongjia.

The next day: Charter a car to visit the scenic spots along the west line of Shennongjia Scenic Area, which mainly include major scenic spots such as Shennongding and Banbi Rock, as well as small scenic spots such as Taizi Ya, Liangfeng Ya, and Sansheng Stone. Check in at night at the end of the west line: Pingqian Town. (The town is located at the entrance of Dajiu Lake Scenic Area)

Day 3: Visited Dajiu Lake in the morning and spent 5 hours. In the afternoon, we rushed to Tianyan Scenic Area on the northern line of Shennongjia. The two major attractions are far apart, so it took a day and the car ride was quite tiring.

Day 4: It is relatively easy to visit three small attractions near Muyu Town - Shennong Altar, Tiansheng Bridge and Guanmen Mountain. In the evening, we stroll around Muyu Town, eat hot pot, and buy some souvenirs.

Day 5: Take the passenger bus back to Yichang East in the morning and take the train back to Wuhan. Transportation during Shennongjia

The cost of renting a car is 400 yuan per day, and it costs 100 yuan more to stay in Pingqian Town, which is 1,300 yuan per day. I pay for the driver's accommodation outside the home.

Accommodation fee:

Located in the center of Muyu Town, a triple room costs 260 yuan, with air conditioning, hot water, TV, wifi, etc.

Pingqian Town: The newly renovated rooms in the inn on Back Street cost 100 yuan per standard room.

About tickets:

Tickets for the six scenic spots in Shennongjia can be purchased individually or together. It is strongly recommended to buy a combined ticket, 269 yuan, valid for five days! (Dajiu Lake The separate tickets for the two attractions and Shennongding add up to 260 yuan, so buy a combined ticket for the six major attractions!) You can buy a combined ticket at any attraction, or you can buy it online with your ID card, which seems to be a lot cheaper. The elderly can also enjoy half price, and those over 70 years old are free of charge. Entry below 1.2 meters is free of charge.
