The most worth visiting attraction in Tengchong is Tengchong Volcano National Geological Park.

Beautiful scenery is everywhere, but volcanoes are not visible everywhere. Tengchong is known as a city on a volcano. Due to its geographical location, there are frequent geological activities and frequent volcanic eruptions. Tengchong has become one of the places with the most volcanic craters in China. Of course, due to their age, many volcanic craters have difficulty maintaining the shape they had when they erupted. Some well-preserved volcanoes have been protected and are now the Tengchong Volcano National Geological Park.

Tengchong Volcano National Geopark is not far from Tengchong city and can be reached in about 40 minutes by car. Entering the park, there is a volcano museum. There are many address specimens listed in the museum. If you are interested, you can go and take a look. If you are not interested, you can choose to hike up the volcano or take a hot air balloon ride to watch the volcano.

There are 97 volcanoes in the park. These volcanoes were formed from the Pliocene to Holocene between about 3.4 million and 10,000 years ago. Among them, the volcano formed about 10,000 years ago** *4 seats. Due to long-term intense weathering of the volcanic lava formed earlier, most of the volcanic cones were destroyed, and only 6 volcanoes with dome landforms or volcanic mountains are still preserved. Part of it is a dormant volcano.
