This is Xiaoyu's travel diary. Stop and go and watch Guangxi with me.
Although it has become a well-known scenic spot in Guangxi, the real life of the villagers living in the depths of Longji terraces still surprises us.
behind the beautiful scenery, we see the stunning natural aesthetics, the crystallization of human wisdom, and the hard life of people who have lived here for generations. For tourists who come here in a hurry, they may only see the beautiful side of Longji terraced fields; However, if we go deep into it and really measure this land with our feet, we will find that there are many unknown sorrows behind the beautiful scenery ...
Longji Terrace is located in Longsheng Autonomous County, northwest of Guilin, Guangxi, about 8 kilometers away from downtown Guilin, one and a half to two hours' drive. Traveling to Guilin, which can be called "the highest terrace in the world" and "one of the most beautiful terraces in China", also attracts many tourists.
Longji terraces have a relatively large area, which is divided into three parts: Jinkeng Dazhai Hongyao terraced landscape area, Ping 'an Zhuang terraced landscape area and Longji Guzhuangzhai terraced landscape area. There is a certain distance between several scenic spots. For us who are free to travel, we chose Jinkeng Dazhai Hongyao Terrace for a two-day and one-night in-depth tour.
To visit the Jinkeng Dazhai Hongyao Terrace, you can choose to walk or take the cableway up the mountain, and the cableway can sit directly near the Jinfoding on the No.3 observation deck. When we came to play, most tourists chose to take the cableway, but not many tourists like us chose to walk up the mountain.
In fact, a large part of the reason is that many tourists come here for a one-day tour, and then they rush up the mountain to punch in three viewing platforms and return. We're going to stay on the mountain for one night, so we have plenty of time, so we thought of hiking up the mountain and taking a real original ecological hiking trip.
It turns out that our choice is quite wise, because only by hiking up the mountain can you shuttle through the original diaojiao building, feel the beautiful terraced fields and see the real daily life of the Red Yao people ... What you have seen and heard is the biggest gain of this trip.
terraced fields are known as the best embodiment of human wisdom. In mountainous and hilly areas lacking large-scale cultivated land, people build stepped or wavy cross-sectional farmland along contour lines, so that large-scale planting can be realized. Human farming civilization, between such square inches, supported the skeleton and lasted for thousands of years.
Longji terraced fields were first built in the Yuan Dynasty, and it has been more than 6 years since then. People in the mountains with a vertical drop of more than 8 meters, repair terraces, reclaim and plant, initially just for survival. Their ancestors may not have imagined that hundreds of years later, this land, which has poured countless sweat, has become a beautiful landscape because of the flowing and shocking curve, attracting many tourists to explore.
There are three viewing platforms in Jinkeng Dazhai Hongyao Terrace. We live near the No.1 viewing platform at the top of the mountain, and we don't feel very tired when we go up the mountain while playing.
during the two days of play, three viewing platforms are places where you must punch in, because it is an excellent shooting point. When the terraces are stacked and stretched in front of our eyes, their lines are flowing and their scale is magnificent. It seems that only by waving our arms and shouting can we express our shock when we saw the beautiful scenery in front of us.
corresponding to the magnificent scenery, it is the original ecological scenery we encountered when hiking up the mountain. If you don't go there yourself, you may not know what kind of life the local Red Yao people live.
The "Hongyao" in Longsheng Autonomous County of Guilin is a branch of Yao nationality. They mainly live in the mountainous areas around Longji Town and Sishui Township in Longsheng County, and Jinkeng Dazhai Hongyao is their main gathering area.
the red Yao nationality is named after wearing red clothes. They also have a remarkable feature, that is, women of the Red Yao nationality have a tradition of long hair. Huanglong Yaozhai, the "No.1 Long Hair Village in China" under Longji Terrace, was once included in the Guinness Book of World Records as "the best collective long hair".
During our two days wandering around the terraced fields, we met several grandmothers of the Red Yao nationality. Asked about the age, several grandmothers are in their 6s and the older ones are in their 8s. However, they are full of energy and firm skin, especially the long black hair, which makes my friends and I envious of two women who are going bald.
chatting with grandmothers, women of the Red Yao nationality have always had a tradition of long hair. In their minds, long hair has the meaning of "long and prosperous", which symbolizes long life and wealth. Generally speaking, women start to grow hair at the age of 12 or 13, and they will have their hair cut once at the age of 18, and then they will never have their hair cut again until the end of their lives.
Red Yao women's hair is not only long, but also very black and shiny. None of the grandmothers we met had white hair. I asked the grandmothers the tricks of hair care, and they all said that they often wash their hair with Taomi water and mountain spring water. I think, probably the natural and pollution-free natural environment here is also one of the health tips.
When chatting with grandmothers, we also felt the hardships of local people's life. Unlike many commercial scenic spots, there are still a large number of indigenous residents living in Longji terraced fields. Some stockyards are near the scenic spots, and the local hometown will open a farmhouse inn to do business and subsidize the family; If the stockade is deep in a more remote mountain far from the observation deck, you can only carry your own handmade handicrafts and try your luck in the places where tourists must pass.
We walked along a series of paths, and the villagers we met were very warm and simple. At the same time, we also saw that most of the people who stayed in the mountains were old people of Hongyao. Young people go out to work, while old people stay at home to guard their homes. Compared with the bustling tourists, they still live a simple and quiet life. Living in a house with a primitive diaojiao building, working hard in and out of the fields, a few chickens and ducks and a few acres of thin fields may be the family's greatest property.
there is still a simple way of working here, and bamboo tube rice, a special food, is a traditional practice that has been circulating for hundreds of years. The big bamboo tube is a bamboo tube chicken, and the small bamboo tube is a bamboo tube rice. After being wrapped, put it in a bamboo tube and bake it in the stove for an hour, and you can eat it. For tourists, it is a special food; For the red Yao people who grew up in Longji terraces, this is the smell of fireworks for generations.
due to the vigorous development of tourism, various tourist facilities in Longji terraced fields have been gradually improved. However, compared with the plain area, the conditions of accommodation, eating and so on are still relatively simple because of many restrictions such as topography.
even if you stay in a scenic hotel with better conditions, the wooden diaojiao building in the scenic spot will have poor sound insulation. This is probably the reason why Longji terraces have not been fully commercialized!
It is also this simplicity and simplicity that let us see the real life of the original ecology of the local people. Perhaps it is not beautiful, but it is another original state. We don't know how the first ancestors of the Red Yao people who came here faced these towering mountains in the absence of natural conditions. For hundreds of years, they have combined nature and humanity perfectly with wisdom and sweat. Therefore, the Red Yao people protect this nature and naturally give them gifts ...
