Traditional snacks.
Kway Tiao is a characteristic traditional snack in the Chaoshan region of Guangdong, southern Fujian, Taiwan, Hainan, and other regions. It is the same delicacy as "rice noodles" in southern Zhejiang and "ho noodles" in Guangzhou. Tracing back to its roots, Chaoshan rice noodles actually originated from Guangzhou rice noodles. Later, it was introduced to the Chaoshan area by Chaoshan people, who then injected their own understanding and improved it, gradually becoming its own style and becoming the well-known Chaoshan Kueh Teow. Nowadays, Kway Teow can be seen in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and other places, and has even become a local snack. This is due to the large number of immigrants from Fujian and Guangdong who brought Kway Teow out. The non-staple food made from rice, wheat and other miscellaneous grains is called "Kui" or "粲". Fujian, Taiwan, Chaoshan and Hainan basically have the same origin, and their food customs and tastes are also similar.
