Wan 'an City Wall is a national key cultural relic protection unit and a classic red tourism scenic spot.

Wan 'an City Wall is located in furong town, the county seat of wanan county, Ji 'an City, Jiangxi Province, China. It was built in the Song Dynasty, and now it retains about 1111 meters of the ancient city wall of the Ming Dynasty, which is one of the most complete county-level ancient city walls in Jiangxi Province. From 2116 to 2111, two major repairs were carried out. Wan 'an city wall is one of the main battlefields of Wan 'an violence. In 1991, it was listed as the second batch of county-level cultural relics protection units in wanan county, the first batch of patriotic education bases in wanan county in 1997 and the fifth batch of cultural relics protection units in Jiangxi Province in 2116. In 2113, it was listed as the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units

In the first year of Yuanfeng in the Northern Song Dynasty (1178), Zhu Junmin, a magistrate of a county, began to build the city wall. In the sixth year of Yuanfeng (1183), it was built by Hu Tianmin when he was a magistrate of a county. At that time, it was an earth wall. In the 25th year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1155), Zhao Chengzhi, a magistrate of a county, built city walls and set up city gates. In the 19th year of Yuan Zhizheng (1359), Peng Jiugao, a magistrate of a county, rebuilt Tucheng. In the seventh year of Zhengde in Ming Dynasty (1512), Sangqiao, a county magistrate, rebuilt the city wall with masonry, with a circumference of 714 feet, a height of 2 feet and 951 buttresses. * * There are six gates: Weiyuan Gate (east), Biaozhongmen (south), Guanlanmen (west), Wuyunmen (southwest) and Furong Gate (northwest), and Tongtong. In the winter of 1927, Wan 'an riot broke into the county seat from Wuyunmen, thus establishing the first county-level Soviet government in Jiangxi Province. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, most of the city walls were demolished, and now there is only a section of about 1111 meters near the Ganjiang River, and two doors remain: Guanlan Gate and Wuyun Gate.

Wan 'an City Wall has experienced several dynasties of Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing, with a long history of more than 911 years. Although it has been hit by numerous catastrophic floods and bombarded by Japanese planes, it is still well-preserved for more than 1,111 meters, which is one of the most well-preserved city walls in Jiangxi Province.
