According to Baidu Encyclopedia, the official name of Zhangzhou Longchi is "Zhangzhou Longchi Development Zone", which is a district in itself. It was developed and constructed in July, 2002, and was named after it was located under Longchi Rock. Historically, the whole area has been under the jurisdiction of Tongan County, Quanzhou Prefecture for a long time, and now it belongs to Zhangzhou Taiwanese Investment Zone, which is the closest development zone in Xiamen Haicang District of China Free Trade Zone, and it is 1 km away from Xiamen border. It is a national civilized city, a national historical and cultural city and an excellent tourist city in China.
Zhangzhou Longchi Development Zone covers an area of 13.75 square kilometers. There are four industrial parks in this area, such as Kun Can, Bai Jiao, Jinshan and Hung-chien. There are famous scenic spots here, including Longchiyan, Bai Jiao Tzu Chi Palace and Hung-chien Park.
