During the important period of the countdown to the first anniversary of the 2019 Beijing Expo, the 2018 "Expo Flower Banquet" Food Festival and the 6th Guizhou Food Festival with the theme of "Welcoming the Expo at the foot of the Great Wall and Tasting the Yanqing Flower Banquet" will be held on April 26. The opening event of the Peony Garden Cultural Festival was held in Guizhou Peony Garden, Jiuxian Town, Yanqing District, Beijing. It also kicked off the Beijing Expo's high-quality tourism product promotion activities.
The "Expo Flower Banquet" aims to showcase the special food, folk culture, tourism products and other tourism resources of Yanqing, the territory of the 2019 Beijing Expo, as well as the people of Yanqing opening their doors to hold grand events and welcoming guests out of their homes. The enthusiasm of tourists and further solidify the foundation of tourism reception services for the Expo.
The 2018 "World Garden Flower Banquet" Food Festival event*** is divided into three areas: food evaluation area, exhibition area and performance area. In the food competition area, 30 types of rural food contestants from Yanqing local area took "World Garden Flower Banquet" as their creative theme, and the dazzling array of table food was mouth-watering. In the exhibition area, more than 30 kinds of Yanqing local products, handicrafts, tourist souvenirs, and folk souvenirs are dazzling. Citizens can also experience making duck egg paintings and pressing river noodles on site. The unique flower arrangement performance of the Expo and the arrival of the two mascot dolls of the Expo, Xiao Menghua and Xiao Mengya, made the audience feel the strong atmosphere of the 2019 Beijing Expo. In the performance area, various performances took turns on the main stage, and Yanqing Land Boat and other intangible cultural heritage performances under the stage were in full bloom, making the scene lively.
