My hometown is Wuzhou. Wuzhou is a small mountain city with water beside the mountain. This small mountain city has undergone earth-shaking changes after 3 years of reform and opening up, and it has become a veritable "Little Hong Kong"!

Zhongshan Road in Wuzhou is one of the most changed places in my hometown. Zhongshan Road is the most prosperous downtown center in my hometown. I have to go through this road whether I go to school or go shopping. Shopping malls and Zhongshan flower beds on both sides of Zhongshan Road are very lively. A steady stream of vehicles passed on the road. The leafy trees along the roadside make the whole road look like a green Great Wall. Bright street lamps stand in neat rows next to big trees like tall and mighty guards.

I heard from my parents that Zhongshan Road used to be a narrow road with only two lanes, which was deserted. There are few pedestrians, bicycles are the most common means of transportation, and cars are very few. There is no big shopping mall on both sides of the road, only a few floors of the People's Auditorium, People's Art Theatre, Xinhua Bookstore and several small department stores. At night, the light from the sparse street lamps on both sides of the street is very dim.

With the reform and opening up, great changes have taken place in Zhongshan Road. The narrow road turned into a wide and flat road. It has become a bustling commercial street where vehicles shuttle day and night and pedestrians keep coming and going, and a shopping paradise in Wuzhou. The clatter of cars and the laughter of pedestrians constitute a wonderful symphony. Look, the high-rise buildings on both sides of this road have sprung up, standing like incomparably tall giants beside Zhongshan Road. The original People's Auditorium, People's Art Theatre, Xinhua Bookstore and small department stores have also become landmark buildings, such as Guotai Plaza, New Century Hotel and Hengye Guotai Plaza, which integrate business and residence. Whenever night falls, Zhongshan Road is brightly lit, colorful street lights and neon lights compete for beauty, which becomes an ocean of lights and a world of light, forming a beautiful picture. The cars on the street are next to each other, row by row, as if a string of dazzling pearls are flowing, and like rows of twinkling stars are moving, making this beautiful picture even more wonderful.

Without reform and opening up, Zhongshan Road would not be as prosperous as it is today. I believe my hometown will become more prosperous tomorrow.
