Brief introduction of Hongmei South Road Tunnel
Hongmei South Road Tunnel is a highway tunnel to be built on the Huangpu River in China and Shanghai, and it is also the first Huangpu River crossing tunnel in Minhang District.

Hongmei South Road Tunnel passes through Minhang District and Fengxian District, with a total length of 5.26 kilometers. It starts from the north side of Yongde Road in Puxi, crosses Huangpu River on the north side of Jianchuan Road, passes through Zhaxi Highway, and finally reaches Jinhai Highway. The section from the starting point of Puxi to Jianchuan is to rebuild the original ground road, with four lanes in both directions, and the south side of Jianchuan Road ramp to the end point of Pudong is six lanes in both directions. Among them, the circular tunnel is 3.39 kilometers long and the project investment is nearly 3 billion yuan. It is the largest municipal project under construction in Shanghai and the longest highway tunnel at the bottom of Huangpu River.

Hongmei South Road Tunnel started construction in July 20 10, and the project is expected to be completed and opened to traffic by the end of 20 15.

The river-crossing tunnel has become the core facility in Shanghai's urban transportation system, which has greatly improved the traffic conditions in Puxi, Pudong, Shanghai and Chongming Island. At present, the river-crossing tunnel project of Hongmei South Road, the largest highway tunnel with the longest route at the bottom of Huangpu River, has started to be excavated, which will become the "main artery" in southern Shanghai.
