The New Year's Eve dinner is all about auspiciousness and joy. It is prosperous and reunion is the consistent theme!
This year’s New Year’s Eve dinner, should we also have a special dish for the occasion?
It is a traditional Chinese custom to have tall red lanterns. Today, we will bring these fiery red lanterns to the dining table to push the New Year celebrations to a climax.
Ingredients: 1 eggplant, 200 grams of beef filling, 200 grams of auxiliary oil, appropriate amount of salt, 1 carrot, 5 grams of Korean kimchi stir-fry sauce, 1 wheat starch, 0.5 packets. Process: After preparing the ingredients, wash the eggplant, place two chopsticks underneath, and cut it into 7 pieces.
Stuff the same amount of beef filling into each eggplant slice with connected eggplant clips. Use chopsticks to press the carrots into slices and repair them into lanterns. Arrange the lanterns on the plate. Also assemble the carrot decorations. Place the plate on the steamer and close the lid.
Bring to a boil over high heat and steam for ten minutes. Add a little water to the wheat starch. Mix evenly and set aside. After the eggplant is steamed, pour the juice into the pot and bring it to a boil. Add the Korean kimchi stir-fry sauce. Boil the pot again. Pour in the starch water and pour it into the lantern.
Tips for preparing eggplant: 1. Place a chopstick on each side of the eggplant to cut even eggplant slices. Cut the eggplant slices slightly thinner.
2. Put a little more meat filling between each piece of eggplant and press it tightly so that it will not collapse and affect the appearance after steaming.
3. The sauce should not be too thick so that it has the best fluidity.
