Huangshan Xidi's diet belongs to Anhui cuisine, which is one of the eight major cuisines in China. The local specialties mainly include Laba porridge, stone roe, Huizhou roe, Song, crab shell yellow sesame seed cake, Huizhou steamed dumplings, fried snails, Wucheng dry tea, fried hairy tofu and fried sesame seed cake.

Laba porridge: The seasoning of Laba porridge is prepared before the twelfth lunar month. Generally, white rice is the main food, and it is cooked with dozens of dried fruits and vegetables such as corn, beans, sweet potatoes, taro, dried melons, dried vegetables and dried beans. Some of them are nicknamed "Chinese cabbage porridge", "Baiwei porridge" or "Bai Bao porridge". According to the old custom, after "Laba porridge" is cooked, it is first offered as a sacrifice to ancestors and then eaten by family members.

Stone roe: the traditional pasta spread to Huizhou from the west, which was well-known as early as the Qing Dynasty, is a kind of well-known food. Stone candied fruit is filled with diced pork belly and fried soybean powder, wrapped with dough, closed and pinched, rolled into round cakes with a wood mill, and then branded in a pot. Each cake is pressed with a stone (still with a special brick). The purpose of putting stones is to evenly transfer heat, make the stuffing cooked, and press the stones at the same time as the cake kang (without turning over) to promote internal grease. The bite is fragrant, nourishing and delicious, and it is better to eat with soup. This is the common name of local people, and it is made of stone when it is produced, so it is called stone book, also known as soybean slices.

Baolusong: The "Baolusong" from Xidi is a famous snack. Bud reed in mountainous area is a kind of corn planted in mountainous area. Its growth period is about 140 days. It is sweet and has high nutritional content. Grind corn into fine powder, paint it with fine paint to remove the skin, add water, stir and cook it into paste, cool and solidify it, then plane it into thin slices with a special bow, then put the thin slices on a bamboo plaque and dry them in the sun. When eating, the thin slices are fried in boiling oil, then stretched and expanded to float, and then taken out. "Bud reed pine" is crisp and fragrant, which is suitable as a table food for afternoon tea. From Tunxi to Xidi, you can get off without going to Yixian County. There is a sign to Xidi, and you can take the bus and tricycle. Tunxi bus station has a 1 bus to Hongcun, passing Xidi Village, and it takes about one hour from Tunxi to Xidi Village. There are buses at 7: 30 and 13: 00, and there is a large sand table with panoramic view of Xidi ancient village in front of the main hall for about 1.5 hours, which vividly reproduces the overall layout and mountain landform of the ancient village.
