Parent-child reading into the Xixiang Oyster Industry Community (2) - "The Very Hungry Little Snake"

Hi, dear friend, do you have a naughty little guy at home? When he's hungry, he eats everything he wants, and when he's full, he falls asleep. His joy, anger, sorrow, and joy are all expressed in words. He is a simple, happy, confident, and proud little warrior. If so, then the protagonist of this picture book story is him?

At 16:00 on November 15th, I brought a "The Very Hungry Snake" picture book themed activity to 10 families with children aged 2-4 in Xixiang Oyster Community, Baoan.

Before the start, introduce yourself and welcome each group of families. Next, we introduce the theme of this issue’s picture book activities and emphasize the order and rules of the activities with the children. The story begins~

1. Teaching objectives

(1) Preliminarily understand the content of the story and experience the plot of the snake's body deformation after eating various foods.

(2) Learn to use appropriate vocabulary to describe the color and shape of objects, and express your own observations, guesses and imaginations.

(3) On the basis of understanding the story, boldly speak out the onomatopoeia in the story and feel the childishness of the story.

(4) In guessing and performing, learn to tell short sentences in stories, and promote the coordinated development of body language by twisting the body.

(5) Feel the humorous and funny atmosphere of the story and experience the joy of reading.

2. Importing picture books

Combined with the content of picture books, I chose to introduce activities based on shape recognition. I showed the children a clock composed of various shapes, and we worked together to recognize the shapes and understand the differences between each shape. The picture book stories in this issue are related to many shapes, and there are also cute little snakes involved. The children's interest has been aroused!

3. Picture book reading

During the picture book reading process, I guided the children to observe the picture book cover (animal recognition, shape recognition, detail observation), briefly introduce the author, translator Author, publisher, publisher and other information. The reading process mainly focuses on the following points:

(1) Guide the children to observe the front cover and back cover. The little snake starts and ends with sleeping, and feels the joy and satisfaction in the process of foraging.

(2) Guide the children to say out loud what the hungry little snakes ate from the 1st to the 6th day? What color? What shape? What does it taste like? (Food name, color, shape recognition)

(3) Guide the children to observe the shape of the snake’s belly after eating the food, and feel surprise and happiness.

(4) Through language repetition, guide the children to collectively learn to say short sentences: "Ah wu - Gudu, ah, so delicious!" Feel the magic of sound rhythm.

(5) Encourage children to open their mouths forcefully, burp loudly, imitate the movements of snakes "swallowing" food, and feel the pleasure brought by delicious food.

(6) With the appearance of a tree full of apples on the 6th day, the whole story was pushed to a climax, bringing huge surprises and imagination to the children. I guided the children to boldly imagine how the hungry snake ate the apple tree, and encouraged them to come on stage to imitate the snake climbing the tree and experience the joy of reaping the rewards of their efforts.

(7) In the same forest, there are differences before and after because of the hungry little snake (the apple tree was eaten). Guide the children to observe the differences between the two pictures and speculate on what happened in the middle. .

(8) The expressions of the very hungry little snake are obviously different when it discovers food, eats food, and finishes eating food. Guide children to observe and express the differences.

(9) The expression of the very hungry little snake after eating the apple tree caused controversy. Some children thought it was dead, some thought it was too stretched and uncomfortable, and some thought it was very uncomfortable. Satisfied and enjoyed. By turning the pages, let the children get the answers and feel the charm of turning the pages of picture books.

4. Expansion

In the picture book, the author uses humor and bold imagination to present to us the six-day foraging experience of a very hungry little snake. Let nature take its course. , I asked the children to extend the story and create what happened to the hungry little snake in the four days from day 7 to day 10? What an interesting story.

I found a lottery box and placed pre-prepared food cards in it (no duplicates of the food that appeared in the picture book). I gave four opportunities and asked four children to draw the corresponding food. Imitate the look (expression, sound, etc.) of a hungry snake eating this food. In this process, the children scrambled to be the first, the scene was very lively, and the expressions were vivid. They perfectly internalized the key points presented in the aforementioned picture book stories into their own cognition and literacy, and were deeply moved by their enthusiasm for participation.

5. Teaching summary

(1) Discover the beauty of rhythm together: Repeated sentences and words that are easy for children to pronounce - "The very hungry little snake is twisting around." Taking a walk...it discovered...guess what will happen to the hungry little snake? Ah-gu-du! Ah-it's so delicious."

It's good to discover it together. Food to eat: Recognize foods such as apples, bananas, rice balls, grapes, and pineapples. Invite the children to take a look, knock, listen, smell, touch, and taste. Through the five senses of sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch, we can build rich food cognition and knowledge for babies in the early childhood stage. All-round three-dimensional perception and experience.

(3) Be a very hungry little snake together: Feel the humorous and funny atmosphere of the story and experience the joy of reading. Explore and discover richer expressions together, enhancing creativity and imagination.

6. Summary and reflection

(1) Among the participating children, there is a little girl who has good reading habits. She can discover many small details that other children have not discovered. Everyone actively raised their hands during an interactive Q&A, and the answers were exemplary. In the recommended reading list, I mentioned "The Magic Umbrella Shop" by Tatsuya Miyanishi. As soon as the event ended, her mother immediately took her to the bookstore to find this picture book. I want to give her a thumbs up for her mother who has always silently supported her!

(2) Half of the families participating this time came from the previous event. On the one hand, they felt that parents attach great importance to reading, and on the other hand, they also verified that their own skills are gradually being consolidated and solid. It has been recognized and affirmed by parents.

(3) The community staff recommended to us the treasure app "Xueqiangguo", which allows you to obtain free content that is only available in paid apps (such as Uncle Kai Storytelling, Fan Deng Little Reader, etc.). I gained more knowledge, thank you! ?
