"Silkworm" is homophonic with "entanglement" in Fuzhou dialect, and "parting beans and becoming attached" is a unique custom of Fuzhou Qixi. On Tanabata, friends, relatives and neighbors should give each other and share broad beans, which means to tie beautiful things together tightly.
Qiaoya noodles
Besides eating proper fruits, in some places, people eat jiaozi noodles on July 7th. In order to make bean sprouts, seven days in advance, choose a small bowl of green beans that will not be eaten by insects, wash them, spread them on the plate, cover them with wet gauze for shade, and put them on the kang, spraying water several times a day to keep them moist.
