Couplets are unique to the Chinese nation and are a treasure of Chinese culture.
It was originally a work of literati, but it is very popular among the people.
The people like to express weddings and funerals in the form of couplets.
Every Spring Festival, every family will post Spring Festival couplets at the door to welcome the spring and bring blessings.
Of course, wedding couplets, birthday couplets, elegiac couplets, house couplets, tomb couplets, and industry couplets are very important and are necessary for celebrations.
The requirements for couplets are very strict, even more stringent than those for rhymed poetry, emphasizing that the word form, pronunciation, and meaning of the couplets must be relative to each other, neat and beautiful.
The so-called "characters are relative", "levels and obliques are relative to each other" and "parts of speech are relative".
1. Cleverly couple numbers.
Someone visited Duxiu Peak in Guilin and rested in the pavilion. He pointed to the hexagonal pavilion and made a couplet to his companions: "One horn is pointed, and there are six corners in all directions." One of the tourists answered the second couplet: "Two fists arched, five fingers two short three
"Long" is correct and more neat and natural.
2. Fo Yin cleverly treated Su Xiaomei.
Foyin often got carried away when talking with Su Dongpo. Su Xiaomei wanted to ridicule the monk, so she wrote a couplet: "A person who was once a monk cannot become a Buddha." Foyin thought for a while and said to him: "A woman who is humble can be called a maidservant."
"Slave", Su Dongpo cheered repeatedly, it was really a good move and a tit-for-tat response.
3. Contemporary workers’ famous couplets from the Qing Dynasty.
There is a couplet on the Wangjiang Tower in Chengdu: From the Wangjiang Tower, you can see the river flow. The Jiang Tower lasts forever, and the river flows forever.
For more than a hundred years, no one has been able to correct it. In 1964, at a poetry competition held in Wangjiang Tower, a young worker corrected the second couplet: The poetry competition stage competes for poetic talent, the poetry stage is peerless, and the poetry talent is peerless.
If you don't care about the requirements of equality, it is quite clever.
4. Cleverly change the couplets.
There was a corrupt official who always flaunted his integrity. This corrupt official posted a couplet on the door of his house: Love the people like a son, enforce the law like a mountain.
A wise commoner added a sentence to the upper and lower couplets and changed it to: Love the people like a son, and all the gold and silver are my sons; law enforcement is like a mountain, how can a mountain of money be backed by a mountain?
This change really shows the true colors of corrupt officials.
5. Touch the scene and create emotions, completing the old pair.
When Zhu Yuanzhang was a shepherd boy, he often went to the school to listen to classes. He especially liked the teacher teaching his students how to pair. As time went by, the teacher also fell in love with this cowherd.
Before he died, the teacher handed over a first couplet to Zhu Yuanzhang and said, I have been writing this first couplet for more than ten years, but the second couplet is still not up to par.
If you think about it, you can match it to me.
The first couplet is: "Three soils test the old man." Zhu Yuanzhang did not meet him for a long time.
Later, when he became emperor, he saw five children at a birthday banquet who all came to pay their respects. Thinking that these five princes all loved playing, he couldn't help but be moved by the scene. He shouted Miao Miao Miao and matched the couplet given by the teacher: "Five Princes"
Wang plays the pipa. "It's really wonderful."
6. The first couplet is written for the Mid-Autumn Festival, and the second couplet is written for the New Year.
During the Mid-Autumn Festival when admiring the moon, a scholar came up with a couplet: "The moon in the sky is full, the moon in the world is half, the moon is full and the moon is half." No matter how hard the scholars thought and meditated, they couldn't get it right. It wasn't until the end of the year that a scholar got it right:
"Tonight is the end of the year, tomorrow is the beginning of the year, and every year is the end of the year." This pairing is simple and bright, and it is really a coincidence.
7. Right before execution.
Jin Shengtan once asked an old monk to borrow scriptures and review them. The old monk knew that he would have a hard time with his university studies, so he wrote a couplet: "Two and a half in the middle of the night", which unexpectedly stumped Jin Shengtan.
Later, Jin Shengtan committed a capital crime for resisting grain and crying in the temple. When he was about to be executed during the Mid-Autumn Festival, he suddenly remembered that the second line was: "Mid-Autumn Festival in the middle of August."
8. Wang Xizhi’s anti-theft couplet.
One New Year's Eve, Xizhi wrote a couplet: Spring breeze, spring rain, spring scenery, new year, new year, new scenery.
I didn’t want it to be taken away soon after I posted it, so I wrote again: Orioles are singing in the north, and Yan language is in the south.
After it was posted, it was taken away.
Xizhi thought for a while and posted this couplet: Blessings come in pairs, misfortunes never come alone.
As expected, no one dared to reveal it. At the dawn of the Spring Festival, Xi Zhi continued to write, saying: "Unparalleled blessings come today, and misfortunes do not come alone yesterday."
When the neighbors saw it, they all praised it.
9. Wen Gu Qiaohe couplet.
One year, during the Lantern Festival, it was raining lightly. A county official was having a banquet with his friends. One of the friends wrote a couplet: "When the moon is not visible during the Lantern Festival, light a few lamps to bring color to the universe." The county official couldn't think of it for a moment.
Suddenly there was a sound of gongs and drums. He was overjoyed and immediately said to him: "I didn't hear the thunder when I woke up, but I beat the drums several times to announce the power of heaven and earth." This was really natural and full of fun.
10. Send wonderful couplets thousands of miles away.
Xu Teli responded to the young man's request and sent a couplet from thousands of miles away: "Read the letters about your family and country often, and do nothing that is not beneficial to your body and mind." This expresses Mr. Xu's concern and expectations for the younger generation.
11. A wonderful addition to the couplet.
On Kang Youwei's 50th birthday, the conservative Zhejiang School sent a couplet to insult him: "The country will surely perish, and it is for old age not to die." The disciples were furious and wanted to tear up the couplet. Liang Qichao hurriedly stopped him. He took up his pen and added four
The words made it become: "When a country is about to perish, there must be loyal men. It is a blessing to be old and not die." After reading it, everyone praised it.
12. Sister-in-law is right.
Once upon a time, there was a sister-in-law who loved to fight each other for fun.
One day, my sister-in-law went back to her parents' house, and my sister-in-law went to play with her.
My maiden name is Du, and my sister-in-law has a sister named Doudou. When she saw a guest coming, she went to Miaobandou to entertain them.
The beans were greedy and she ate them while frying them. When she saw them, the sister-in-law smiled and said to her sister-in-law: "Du Doudou, stir-fry beans and eat beans in your belly." When my sister-in-law heard this, she knew that her sister-in-law was in the wrong. It happened that there was a neighbor named
When Niu Niu's child led the cows past, he blurted out: "Liu Niu Niu led the cows and rode on the slopes to herd them." What a clever match.
13. Foyin is jealous.
Once, Su Dongpo and several literary friends invited Foyin to go to the West Lake for a drink.
