Lincang Wanyao Village has a pottery-making history of about three hundred years.

There are documents recording the history of pottery making in Wanyao Village for nearly three hundred years (as of 2022), but experts proved that the pottery unearthed from Boshang Dayu was a cultural relic from the Ming Dynasty.

Perhaps the pottery making history of Wanyao is older than the history of "Jianshui Purple Pottery", one of the four famous pottery in China.

More than 300 years ago, Mengtuo Bazi, which has a large amount of clay resources, was discovered. Then a kiln village was built to make pottery bowls, which was named Wanyao Village.

The village was named "Wanyao" because in the past, it mainly produced pottery bowls, as well as kimchi jars and small pottery tea pots.

With the increasing popularity of Lincang tea, coupled with the popularity of "simple" and "natural" nostalgia, the earthenware pottery born in Long Kiln has successfully attracted the attention of the market, so new teapots, teacups, vases and other new products have been produced.
