Administrative divisions of Guangzhou Municipal People's Government

Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, Guangzhou has undergone many administrative divisions adjustments, and now it has formed the 11th District and Nansha New District (the main body of construction is still Guangzhou, which can enjoy provincial management authority).

adjustment of administrative divisions in Guangzhou: Guangzhou's overall planning areas (i.e. Yuexiu, Haizhu, Liwan, Tianhe, Baiyun, Huangpu and Nansha) are referred to as "Old Seven Districts" for short. Dongshan, Fangcun and Luogang were originally one of the old seven districts, but were later cancelled due to the merger. Nansha is a part of the new old seven districts. The old four districts originally referred to Yuexiu District, Dongshan District, Haizhu District and Liwan District, but after the regional adjustment, the old three districts (the old city) were adopted, referring to Yuexiu District, Liwan District and Haizhu District. The new four districts are Panyu District, Huadu District, Conghua District and Zengcheng District.

On February 12th, 214, the State Council agreed to cancel Huangpu District and Luogang District of Guangzhou and set up a new Huangpu District of Guangzhou. The county-level Conghua City and Zengcheng City were abolished, and the Conghua District and Zengcheng District of Guangzhou City were established.
