Guangxi University, referred to as "Xida University" for short, is located in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. It is a university established by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and ranks among the "211 Project" and "World-class Discipline Construction University". Selected as a member of the "One Province, One School" National Key Construction University Alliance in the Midwest, it is a comprehensive national key university.

Guangxi University was founded in 1928, which was the first of its kind in higher education in Guangxi. The first principal was a "master of a generation" known as "Northern Cai South Ma" in education, and Dr. Ma Junwu, a famous educator in China. In 1939, it became a national university in Guilin. Zhu Kezhen, Li Siguang, Chen Wangdao, Chen Yinque and Wang Li taught here. In 1952, Mao Zedong personally wrote the name of Guangxi University. In the same year, the Agricultural College of Guangxi University was established independently.
