What is the most surprising food you have ever tried?

This restaurant is famous for its salads. My son and daughter-in-law wanted us to taste food from all countries.

But my husband and I are a little worried about eating salad for lunch.

In India, we are used to eating rice as the main food for lunch. If we can't buy rice during the trip, we can also buy wheat.

But only raw vegetables for lunch?

When I got home, I mentally prepared myself to cook.

The salad was served on a large plate. Quite a lot! And some buns to go with it.

We all decided to fill our bellies with bread. But surprisingly, once we tasted the salad, it was delicious. Salad dressing makes all the difference.

What’s more, the salad has lots of greens (baby spinach and baby kale). They taste delicious.

We ended up finishing the salad without even a piece of bread.

Since then, our daughter-in-law has been making a salad dinner once a week, no matter when we go.

I want to do it in India too. But no spinach or kale here.

This is something we should taste.

Fugu Japan - Fugu

There are not many life-threatening foods. One of Japan's most famous dishes is puffer fish.

Witchetty grub Australia - Witchetty grub

Eating witch grubs as a snack may sound a little scary. Australians call the large, white larvae of certain moths witch grubs. They are a traditional food of the indigenous people.

Sannakji Live Octopus Korea - Sannakji

Sannakji is a traditional Korean dish that cuts the octopus into small pieces and its tentacles even move when eaten. So it’s no surprise that there’s a risk of choking.

Shiokara Japan - Shiokara

If you were disgusted by the smell of pork liver when you were a child, then you’d better not read it. Shiojin is a Japanese dish made from sea creatures, such as squid whose guts have been fermented. Therefore, people usually gulp down this dish and then drink a glass of whiskey immediately.

Grasshoppers All over the world - Grasshoppers

Grasshoppers are a protein-rich delicacy favored by people in many parts of the world. Fried grasshoppers are sold in Asian street markets, while in Mexico a common type of grasshopper is called chapulines, usually eaten with lime and garlic. Mexican supermarket chain Wahaca has launched a grasshopper dish at one of its London branches.
