As the descendants of the Jiuli tribe, the Miao people have many customs, such as the old-age management system, the food system that loves hot and sour food, and some daily taboos.
The Miao nationality is an ancient ethnic minority in my country and is scattered throughout the world. It is currently mainly distributed in China's Hunan, southeastern Guizhou, Hubei, Yunnan, Guangxi, Qiong and other provinces and regions, as well as in Southeast Asia's Laos, Vietnam, Thailand and other countries and regions.
The Miao people have many special systems and customs.
1. Li Lao System Li Lao (also called "Zhai Lao" or "Xiang Lao" in some places) is the natural leader of the Miao village.
Li Lao formed naturally, was not elected, and was not hereditary.
In the Miao people, there are about three levels of Li Lao: the lowest level is the Li Lao of a village, called "Zhai Lao", who mainly plays the role of mediating disputes in the village; the middle level is the Li Lao of the clan, called "Zhai Lao".
The Drum Gong is mainly responsible for mediating and managing disputes within the clan; the highest level is the Li Lao of an area (including several villages), called the Dali Tou, who is responsible for mediating major disputes that occur within the area.
Mr. Li is familiar with the ancient laws and regulations of the Miao people. He can uphold justice and work conscientiously on weekdays. He enjoys high prestige in people's hearts and has played a positive role in maintaining the order of production and life in Miao society.
2. Love hot and sour food. The Miao people prefer hot and sour food, especially eating sour food.
Among the Miao people, almost every household makes delicacies such as sour soup, sour fish, and sour meat.
In addition, Miao people also like to drink alcohol.
Whether it is after work, visiting relatives and friends, or holding a wedding banquet, guests are always entertained with fine wine.
3. Love Camellia oleifera. The Miao people at the junction of the three provincial regions of Hunan, Guangxi and Guizhou also like to drink Camellia oleifera. Camellia oleifera is their daily homemade food. When eating, just add boiling water to brew it or boil it over high heat.
Camellia oleifera is both delicious and healthy. It is a high-end drink for the Miao people to maintain their health and entertain their relatives and friends.
