As a person who loves food, I once went to Xi'an, the ancient capital of China, to pursue the rich food culture there, and embarked on an unforgettable personal experience. Because of the food, Xi'an is my most favorite city in the past.
I packed my bags early and came to Xi'an with great expectations. As soon as I set foot on this land, I was deeply attracted by the rich historical atmosphere. In the streets and alleys of Xi'an, the aroma of delicious food is everywhere, and I can't resist the mouth-watering taste.
My food journey started from the famous Muslim Street. This is an alley with rich historical and cultural background, and it is also a famous food street in Xi'an. I walked along Muslim Street and saw a variety of food stalls. The variety of food dazzled me. I decided to start by trying a small stall selling roujiamo.
Roujiamo is a traditional delicacy in Shaanxi Province. It is composed of shredded pork, dough, minced green onions, pepper and other ingredients. It has a crispy outer skin, fresh and tender fillings and a rich taste. I couldn't wait to take a bite and was immediately conquered by the delicious meat aroma and crispy dough. Next, I tried the local Youpo Noodles, which is a unique Shaanxi noodle dish. The noodles have a chewy texture and are paired with rich sauces and spicy Youpo noodles. It is simply a treat for the taste buds.
On Huimin Street, I also tried local traditional snacks such as noodles with soybean paste, cold skin, mutton steamed buns, etc., and every one of them surprised me. I also communicated with local residents and learned more about Xi’an food stories and culture.
In addition to Muslim Street, I also explored the food in other places. While riding along the city walls of Xi’an, I discovered a small stall selling kebabs. I tried their lamb skewers and beef skewers. The meat was tender and juicy, and paired with special spices, it was a wonderful taste experience. I also tried Shaxian snacks from Shaanxi, such as fried pancakes and bean curd.
