Besides Hokkaido and northern Honshu, tea is also produced in many other parts of Japan. Shizuoka produces the most tea, mainly producing fried tea (steamed green tea). There are Kagoshima and Uji near Kyoto, both of which produce tea, such as matcha, brown rice tea and high-efficacy tea.
