Xinjiekou Deji Plaza has a higher-grade shopping environment. I think it is the best in Nanjing. There are many big brands. It is a long way to go to Laidi Plaza for shopping. Each small store is exquisite and fashionable without being impetuous. Other popular shopping malls in Xinjiekou include Dayang Department Store, Oriental Mall, Golden Eagle, Wanda Plaza, and Jinling Hotel Shopping Center. Dayang and Golden Eagle are better than those in Suzhou.
Hunan Road is a wide pedestrian street with shops on both sides. The large shopping mall Nanjing Yaohan on Hunan Road is somewhat similar to Jiuguang Daji in Suzhou.
Nanjing 1912 is a well-known entertainment spot in Nanjing on Zhujiang Road. It has bars, tea restaurants, clothing stores, KFC, jewelry stores, Starbucks, abalone and shark fin, Korean cuisine, dessert houses, and European and American restaurants. Yes, it’s fun to go there during the day and at night. During the day, you can go look at clothes, jewelry, eat delicious food and chat. At night, a new addition is clubbing. Basically, there are no low-end bars, but it is recommended to go to the highest-end ones to ensure a comfortable environment and yourself. For sightseeing, go to the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, a scenic spot that appeared in the movie "The Founding of the People's Republic of China". Behind the place where Zhang Guoli and Chen Kun talked, there are many white pigeons flying. That is the music stage of the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum. Every time I go back there, I feel spiritually inspired. It feels soothing. The Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum scenic area is very large and includes Meiling Palace, as well as the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, a world cultural heritage. The Hongshan Zoo is very quick to get to by subway. Try not to drive too far. There are many kinds of animals and it’s quite fun.
Xuanwu Lake has a nice view and the ancient city heritage. It is recommended to go there for fun. It is close to Hunan Road and only a few minutes walk from Nanjing Yaohan Shopping Mall. It takes two to four hours to enjoy it.
Driving: Non-local vehicles cannot use Nanjing Zhongshan Gate and Alfalfa Street. Turn from Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway to 312 National Highway, then take Ningzhen Highway to Xinzhuang Interchange and turn to Nanjing City. Please pay attention when driving on some one-way lanes in the city. Just click it, it’s not complicated.
Accommodation: Don’t worry about places to eat or stay in Nanjing. There are so many. There are many hotels in Nanjing that are convenient for life and are highly recommended. You have the flexibility to choose.
Food: The restaurants marked with Nanjing Channel 18’s food are all delicious. There are Thai food, Korean food, Japanese food, Indian restaurant, Vietnamese restaurant, and Northeastern cuisine in Shiziqiao, Hunan Road. There is a restaurant called Northeastern cuisine. The Dongbei stew restaurant is full at night, and the portions are enough to satisfy everyone's tastes. Personally, I think it's just average. I really like the Thai food and food stalls in Shiziqiao. The food stalls in Nanjing have a very nice environment. There are many special dishes and even the sweet potato sprouts are very good. Eat recommended! Thai food is a bit expensive, but the business is good and the taste is strong.
There are also many in Xinjiekou. Macao Doulao on Wangfu Street is a good choice with a good dining environment and delicious food. Tangun Korean Food is also good, authentic and high-end Korean food. The Honglin buffet in Deji Plaza is also good. If you want to eat high-end food, I recommend two restaurants: the Lake View Buffet Restaurant in the Xuanwu Hotel opposite the main entrance of Xuanwu Lake and the revolving restaurant in the Jinling Hotel in Xinjiekou. The per capita consumption is about 200, and they are both five-star hotels, which are very good.
Specialty: There is a halal osmanthus duck shop on Hunan Road, Han Fuxing, which is the most authentic! Business is so good that people are rushing to buy the duck fat sesame cakes they sell. Don’t buy Yuhua Stone because you can’t tell whether it’s real or fake.
Key recommended tourist destinations: Underwater World, Hongshan Zoo, Deji Square, Nanjing Yaohan, 1912 (play until the lights are on at night and create an atmosphere).
