Munich lore is adapted from a real event in history: in the men's basketball final of 1972 Munich Olympic Games, the former Soviet Union defeated the unbeaten American team for 36 years with a lore of 5 1: 50 in the last three seconds, which is a play expressing perseverance.

Different from the traditional Hollywood-style sports film, this film used nearly half the space, and almost restored all the finals of the former Soviet basketball team and the American basketball team. Basically, each team has one point. Therefore, although everyone only knew the result from the title before entering the cinema, the ups and downs of the final still excited everyone.

On the surface, "Death Munich" is a reinterpretation of the basketball game. In fact, through an intuitive game, "Death Munich" expressed the will to fight to the end. The audience was moved not only by the tortuous plot, but also by the miracle in life.

In the final of 1972 Munich Olympic basketball championship, the United States led by one point three seconds before the end of the game and began to celebrate the victory in advance because they believed that the result of the game was a foregone conclusion. However, the Soviet national team did its best in the last three seconds and finally reversed the result.
