Every day when I pass Minzu Avenue during the rush hour after get off work, I can't help but complain about the traffic jam.
I remember sitting on the back seat of a 28-inch bicycle when I was a child. At that time, I felt that the roads in Nanning were particularly spacious. They were easily accessible everywhere and there were only a few sparse cars on the road.
(Photo/Nanning High-rise Fans) Nowadays, Nanning looks more and more like a big city. There are more and more high-rise shopping malls, and the city is becoming more and more beautiful. Nanning has become familiar and strange at the same time.
Some things get better after being rebuilt, and some things are lost forever.
Those mottled memories are being swallowed up bit by bit, and the good things once turned into endless regrets.
Where can I find those familiar places and missed tastes now?
1. Disappeared landmarks 1. Peking University Passenger Terminal Peking University Passenger Terminal is close to the urban express inner ring road. It is one of the highway transportation hub sites in Nanning City's construction of the southwest sea passage.
This used to be the passenger terminal with the largest flow of people in Nanning.
Due to serious traffic congestion during operation, especially during holidays, the traffic pressure on surrounding roads is high.
Peking University Passenger Terminal was officially decommissioned in 2013 and moved entirely to Xixiangtang Passenger Terminal.
(Photo/Internet) The former Peking University Passenger Terminal was busy, but since it was moved to Xixiangtang Passenger Terminal, it has been abandoned there.
It was not until November 2017 that the Peking University Passenger Terminal was demolished, officially ending more than 20 years of history.
According to the reconstruction plan, it can be seen that the Peking University Passenger Terminal will be transformed into a residential area in the future.

In the past, if you wanted to buy audio equipment and electronic products at home, the first thing you would think of was going to an ethnic mall.
(Photo/Internet) In July 2017, there was news that the National Mall was about to be demolished, and a new urban complex might be built on the original site.
I have been accompanying Nanning people for 28 years, and I have to say goodbye.
(Photo/Nanning Circle) I still have a DVD player I bought at a national shopping mall more than ten years ago at home. At that time, I saved up my pocket money to buy various cartoon CDs.
With the popularity of the Internet, DVD players have long been eliminated.
Times have changed, and now there are many modern large-scale shopping malls in Nanning. The 28-year-old ethnic shopping malls have also faded away from the hustle and bustle, and have been eliminated by the times like DVD players.
3. Chaoyang People’s Pedestrian Bridge In 1985, Guangxi’s first pedestrian bridge was completed in Nanning.
At that time, there was a huge flow of people in the Chaoyang Road and Renmin Road department stores. People ran red lights in a hurry, causing many traffic accidents.
In order to alleviate traffic congestion at the intersection, the Nanning government invested more than 500,000 yuan to build this overpass.
(Photo/Nanning TV) With this overpass, people almost no longer run red lights and cross the road, and traffic order is much improved.
At that time, there were many small commodities selling on the overpass, such as eggs, steamed buns, handicrafts, etc., all at very cheap prices.
After more than 20 years of wind and rain, the overpass has become seriously corroded and is technically unsuitable for reinforcement.
Therefore, the Nanning government decided to demolish the overpass.
When it had to say goodbye to the people of Nanning, many citizens came to take photos as a souvenir, and some wanted to walk on this overpass for the last time.
4. Zhonghua Cinema Zhonghua Cinema was built in the 1930s and is one of the oldest cinemas in Nanning.
It was rebuilt from the Guangxi Governor Tan Mansion in 1932. At that time, it was called the China Grand Theater, which mainly focused on screenings. In September 1946, it was renamed the China Cinema.
At that time, Zhonghua Cinema was considered one of the largest cinemas in Nanning, with the entire theater able to accommodate more than 2,000 people.
(Photo/@老豆有语) With the continuous emergence of high-end star-rated cinemas in Nanning, cinemas with advanced equipment and high-quality services such as Wanda Cinema, Red Star Cinema, and Broadway Cinema have opened one after another. Traditional and old-fashioned Chinese cinemas are also competing.
Slowly declined.
In 2013, Eternal Times Cinema invested heavily in renovating and upgrading the China Cinema City, and the China Cinema has become more modern.
In 2017, with the implementation of the Nanning Three Streets and Two Alleys project, the Zhonghua Cinema was also demolished.
Nanning's Republic of China buildings are now missing one more.
5. Old Water Street There are different opinions on the origin of the name of Water Street.
It is said that before liberation, residents in the pedestrian street and Huaqiang Road area had to pass here to fetch water from the Yongjiang River to eat. The street was named after the sparkling water.
Some people also say that Water Street was named "Water Street" because it sold water.
Others say that Water Street got its name from the fact that it was often soaked by floods and waterlogging many years ago.
(Photo/Internet) No matter how Water Street got its name, what Water Street represents is a rich Nanning style.
Water Street represents the tradition of Nanning and is the most characteristic old city of Nanning.
